I really don't like that the Sisters of Silence are stuck foot-slogging across the board without any ability whatsoever to get anywhere fast. Adeptus Custodes have Deep Strike, which mitigates their problem a little, but it would be great to have something to do in addition to Deep Striking.

So here are some of the updates they can use.

Under Options for the Sisters of Silence Squad, add the following statement:
  • The unit may select a Rhino or Immolator as a Dedicated Transport.

  • Under Options for the Custodian Guard Squad:
  • The unit may select a Land Raider, Land Raider Redeemer, or Land Raider Crusader as a Dedicated Transport.

You can totally get them places fast. They can't deploy in an allied Transport, but they can get in on turn one and end up quite a ways from where they started (48" in turn two by my count if they start within 6" of a Valkyrie on a Skyshield).

I'd expect the Custodes to get a much fancier transport relatively soon (if the flying Sicarian we're seeing pictures of is any indication), not sure about the Sisters (I don't know enough about how they operated in 30k, they'd probably get some sort of dropship/shuttle in the 40k timeline since they're primarily associated with the Black Ships wandering the galaxy collecting psykers).

So as a quick point of speculation and running off the Custodes general "neener-neener-we-do-everything-better" design philosophy here's some true and accurate predictions that totally weren't made up on the spot within three minutes of reading this post:

    Custodian Chaelus Grav-Tank (350pts)
    BS 5, AV 14-14-14, HP 5
Vehicle (Skimmer, Fast, Transport (20 models, front/side access))
    Wargear:
    Hull-mounted twin-linked Lastrum bolt cannon (36"/S6/AP3/Heavy 3/Heliothermic Detonation).
    Two sponson-mounted twin-linked siege accelerator cannons (36"/S9/AP1/Heavy 2/Heliothermic Detonation)
Flare Shield (incoming attacks from the front are resolved at -1S, -2S instead if they were Blast weapons)
    Frag Assault Launchers
    Special Rules:
    Deep Strike
    Assault Vehicle
    Power of the Machine Spirit
Ferromagnetic Invulnerability (Ignore the effects of the Lance and Melta rules. Additionally any attacks not made by Destroyer weapons take a -1 penalty to their roll on the vehicle damage chart against this vehicle.)

(Reference: Heliothermic Detonation: For those who haven't been keeping up with the Custodes leaks this is the rule their grav-tank's guns have, it gives them an extra +1 to damage table rolls and forces non-vehicle models that take an unsaved Wound to pass a T test or suffer Instant Death.)

(Design notes: Yes! It's a flying Spartan with Ferromagnetic Invulnerability and better guns! Whee! (This profile is slightly parodic, but only slightly. I do expect a Fast Skimmer LR/Spartan for the Custodes at some point.))

Sisters of Silence Ascalion Dropship (175pts)
    BS 4, AV 12-11-11, HP 3
Vehicle (Flyer, Hover, Transport (12 models, side/rear access))
    Wargear:
    Ascalion mega-bolter (36"/S7/AP3/Heavy 6)
    2x twin-linked multi-melta
    Armoured Ceramite
    Special Rules:
    Deep Strike
    Outflank
    Assault Vehicle
Dark Portents (Enemy units within 12" of one or more Ascalion dropships take a -1 penalty to Leadership)
Hexagrammic Wards (The Ascalion dropship cannot be targeted by psychic powers (friendly or enemy). Additionally all psykers (friendly or enemy) within 12" of one or more dropships worsen their target for harnessing Warp Charge by 1 (4+ becomes 5+, etc).)

(Design notes: I have no idea what a model for this would look like. I aimed somewhere between the Corvus Blackstar, the Storm Eagle/Fire Raptor, and the Aquila, tried to preserve the dropship/shuttle feel a bit, and let fly, not sure where it landed.)

A Corvus Dropship with alternative weapons and icons for Sisters of Silence would be AWESOME!
