So, this lis is designed to use Tyranid MC saturation tactics to tie up huge portions of the enemy in hopeless assault. It has some fast units, scarab, acanthrites w/destroyer lord, and wraiths. And it has some decent shooting, (admittedly based on the Exile Cannon... I dunno how well this works, honestly I'm hoping someone with experience can give testimony on it.)

Anything to improve while keeping get the feel of giant mechanical bugs? I don't have any of the models yet, but I want un-tyranids to mostly face off against tyranids. And occasionally Space Marines, Tau, and Eldar (all kinds, even corsairs).

Yeah... I know flayed ones suck. Sell me on warriors? To bad dark harvest can't ake immortalso as compulsory. Otherwise I'd have taken 5 with tesla in night scythes x2.

I'm willing to take this list to the standard codex to fix the troops issue... but it juggles which slots the stalkers and sentinels use, which may or may not be an issue.

Weirdly I don't think new flayed ones suck all that bad. They come with shred, have 5 attacks on a charge, 4+ armor 4+ reanimation, and as a bonus they cause fear. The problem is I2 which sucks.

I think in an all assault list I think they really could work, but they are the old crappy flayed ones, albeit maynark ones. They loose an attack each and they have to pay 10 points for shred only the first round of combat.

The list is cool but I have none of those forgeworld models. So I wouldn't know about an exile cannons effectiveness. The rules sound kind of gimmicky but also kinda awesome. The phrases "pass a strength test or be removed" and "No saves of any kind" grab my attention. For most monsterous creatures don't matter but since it uses base strength, a strength 4 hero could fail 1/3 times. But again. Never used it before.

Maynarkh Flayed Ones from the Dark Harvest list use the 5th ed. Statline - so only one close combat weapon, no AP5, no shred as base (flensing scarabs only work in the first round, once per game), no fear, higher minimum unit size.
