Finally clearing my throat and saying hello to the community.
I've been into
40k ever since a friend and I were lured in by the box art and bought a two army starter set. (Aging myself here but I'm pretty sure it was 2nd edition. I know I got lumbered with some pointy helmeted orks with puny axes.)
In the following 18+ years I've collected Orks, Space Marine of various chapters, Dark Eldar and Necrons but probably only ever played 10 games total. Rather than battling I actually prefer to hoover up as much lore as I can to use for inspiration when painting to relax.
As a long time lurker I used to love prowling this site taking in all the awesome work you guys upload. Unfortunately between work responsibilities and buying my first home the amount of time free for angry little models quickly hit zero so they fell by the wayside.
However as we all know you never truly get clean from warhammer and like any good addict I recently started getting the itch for another hit of grimdark. This came to a head earlier in the week when I opened up a random storage box only to be hit by the familiar smell of paint and solvents

Looking at all those grey sprues that never fulfilled their destiny I was inspired to dust off the craft mat, crack out brushes and have a stab at painting.
The result wasn't great (perhaps fluorescent green, pink and blue aren't the most intimidating colours for a Chaos Marine

) but I had a lot fun regardless and uploaded for posterity. I'm looking forward to contributing to the community and maybe even starting a project log for the small subset of people interested painting that looks okay if you squint.
Anyway enough rambling, thanks to anyone that read this far I'll see you around.
