Hi. I am thinking about restorating my green wing and putting together the lions blade. Most of the models are already there, they just need some love, as some of em are reaaaally old.

The list:

3 pods so 2 come in turn 1. Rhinos because my guys can shoot out (and because i've got 4 rhinos). Knight because i really dont know if my heavy weapons will be sufficiant, and because knights tend to take fire for my army.

I just dont know what to do with the mandatory HQs. Maybe let em infiltrate together with the scouts?! Or just let em hang out with the guys to counter charge?!

Any thoughts for improvement?

In my 1850 Lion's Blade, I run barebones CM and Chaplain, mostly because they're only there as a tax and to give my Tac squads Fearless. You may want to consider a Command Squad for the Drop Pod with 5 melta guns or to find room for a Librarian (65 pts for a level 1 libby rolling on Divination for twin-linked).

Problem is, we only play 1500 points at our flgs right now. I am finding that those 350 points make a real difference in list building. I am always missing points :(

Is the knight useful? Or drop him? For something else? If drop him i got 375 pts to spare (5 pts are unspent im my list)

A Knight is always useful, and like you said, is a huge fire magnet. A Lion's Blade is definitely tough at 1500, there is very little room for flexibility - your Scouts are a good example of this, as they are always better with Cloaks. What weapons are you using for your Razorbacks?

You can't attach non-Infiltrate characters to Infiltrate units at the start of the game. Just keep them as assault-deterrents and Fearless providers.

Fitting both the Knight and a full battle company into 1500 really doesn't give you alot of wiggle room. Either that's fine an it works for you (allowing you to field the cool knight model and still have plenty of bodies to hold objectives with) or it won't (if someone has an easy answer to the Knight, and then the rest of your forces are under-gunned). That's going to be pretty dependent on your local meta.

The hardest list in my flgs is centered about a huge twc deathstar. But i cant thing of much but shoot anything i got at em. The knight might at least insta kill one or two.

Razorbacks are tl-heavy bolters each.

Heavy Bolter Razorbacks won't get you too far, unless you're playing against horde armies - consider running them as TL Assault Cannons instead, they're much more efficient.

This list against a TWC deathstar will likely struggle, you need a lot of bodies to help absorb assaults, put out lots of fire, and grab objectives. Even the Knight won't be great here, as all the TWC should have TH/SS.

How many grav cannons are in your Dev squads? Lots of grav would definitely help, but the meltas won't be doing much.

The dev squads all have only 1 weapon right now. I am already thinking about dropping the knight for some more equip on my guys/transports.

Fitting my 3 razorbacks with assault cannons and buying 2 additional grav cannons will be 130 pts.

If i drop the knight, that means 245 pts left to spend on other things.

Any ideas?



On a sidenote: is auspex on chappy/captain useful? Or rather get stormbolter for them (or combi weapon for captain)?

Definitely make sure your Dev squads have 2 grav cannons inside Rhinos, and 3 Razors with ACs. I would run barebones Chappy and CM and add them to either your assault squads or dev squads.

Shroud of Heros on your CM does provide FNP, however, and is only ten points, if you can spare them. Again, if you can find the points, combi-melta on your CM is fine, but melta bombs are useful too, and I would recommend melta bombs on your assault squads for taking out the odd vehicle.

This is one of my 1850 builds for my Lion's Blade, which will give you a basic idea of what I'm doing for in a competitive sense. This is a tough list for a lot of armies to deal with, and the Warden isn't a model that can be easily ignored, as I tend to be very aggressive with it.

Looks solid to me, you could even add sniper rifles to the Scouts for just a few more points.

I guess I will try the list like that. After a few games I will see what needs changing. I am just wondering how this list will do against that TWC-list ;-)

the 30 points will be spent on sniperrifles and a flamer and 2 meltas for my 3 naked tac squads.

Just try to keep as much distance between your vulnerable grav squads in Rhinos as possible, and don't forget to reroll your failed wounds with the grav amp.

This is a list I have seen for the 2 Coy at least. Cant work points out at the moment. No book to hand.
