Building a new list for DW army, I know one of the weaknesses of DW is the low model count especially when pure DW, but I believe this list has enough models to counteract it.
Any comments and criticism is welcome.

Tactics: So the plan is to Keep the two basic 5 man squads on the board and use the empty pods to get 3 on T1 that are full, WM goes with the 5 man w/ cannons drops first then the other two pods come in and don't scatter within 6in of him, and then I pull the Rhino as well giving me 7 5 man squads with 2 cannons each on their side for the Alpha strike. 2 Basic 5 mans camp objectives and empty pods ObSec onto other late game objectives.
Between Cannons and Special Ammo, should have an answer for everything except AA. The advantages of CAD is everything is ObSec except for the Captain, disadvantages are I barely get any bonuses from the codex and no formations.

The problem with trying to have too many working parts in a list is that if one link in the chain is damaged your entire plan goes down in a smoking wreck.

I would completely ditch the Rhino as it gives up an easy target to give First Blood to your opponent.

I would try and get 7 Drop Pods in at that point level a few of which can be empty FA Pods to get your Pods filled with Toops in for a solid Alpha Strike.

You may be right in that regard, so I've made a second list that I can try out instead. This list will have more of a random factor without the beacon, and instead of having 1 Rhino and 20 bodies to keep me from tabling first turn, I will now have 10 bodies and a Libby termie. So riskier in that regard but more of a guaranteed Alpha.

I am finding with my Deathwatch army it's still nice to have some Melta for some of the bigger tanks.

You can give a Vet a Combi-Melta & Deathwatch Shotgun. After playing a fair amount of games now I am also finding that the melta guys are better off going into one of the smaller drop teams because often I find them going after Fast vehicles or stuff that comes in from reserve later (eg. Drop Podding Dreadnoughts etc)

Also if you come up against something with T4 that has FNP or multiple wounds the meltas can tear them a new one. A squad like this can be just as useful coming in later after your Alpha Stike has gone off.

I have been playing around with 2 Squads with 2 Frag Cannons and 3 either Melta's or Combi-Melta's with a moderate amount of success.
