How's it goin,
I'm just starting to get into warhammer and this is my first army list. I decided to get into Imperial Guard because I really like the retro yet somehow high-tech look. I like to believe the loop antenna on the vox means we're still using AM radio 40000 years in the future.
I'm starting with a 1000pt army for now. I'm going for a gunline with tank support, a suicide melta vet in a chimera, and the plasma vets are going to be just ahead of the line for capture points. The eradicator will creep forward with the gunline and the battle tank will stay back. Eventually I'm going to throw in some sentinels and scions to expand into 1500pts.

HQ
80 - CCS: Vox, Missile launcher

Troops
155 - Veteran: Chimera, 2x Meltas, 1x Heavy flamer
170 - Veteran: Chimera, 3x Plasma guns
Infantry Platoon
45 - PCS: Vox, 2x Grenade launchers
125 - Two squad blob: 1x Vox, 2x Autocannons
135 - Two squad blob: 1x Vox, 2x Missile Launcher

Heavy Support
150 - Leman russ squadron: 1x Battle tank
140 - Leman russ squadron: 1x Eradicator with HB sponsons

Suggestions much appreciated

Drop Trooper with Demo Charge

Kirkland, WA

Lazerz, looks like a solid list with a blend of mobility, firepower, and numbers. One suggestion: consider adding a commissar and/or priest to each of your 2 blobs. Commies and priests' buffs are an excellent force multiplier. To pay for this you could drop the Eradicator sponsons, downgrade the 3 plasma guns to meltaguns, drop the PCS vox (the CCS will be giving orders to the blobs), downgrade the CCS bazooka to an autocannon, and drop 1 of the PCS grenade launchers.

Good luck!

Hurr! Ogryn Bone 'Ead!

I'm not generally a fan of heavy flamers for guard. For the price of that one gun you could make it a regular flamer then buy 3 more for the command squads, or the plantoon blobs.

Also as you're going for a mainly infantry any you will want some sort of leadership buff. If you have large groups commisars work fantastic, but if you want a lot of smaller units I really advocate the Regimental Standard on the company command squad, it also had the benefit of being cheaper.

Other thing to look into is carapace armor on the ccs it becomes a target if your opponent knows what they are doing and that 4+ makes a big difference
