Hey everyone. Need some help on my 2000 point iron warriors list.let me know what you think.

This is actually a really tough one. Have you considered dropping the sponsons on one of the sicarans to free up slightly more points?

Whichever you go with they're going to have to deploy somewhere, it seems like it would have to be with the havocs. I'd say go with whichever HQ works out cheaper and use the rest to add more bodies to the unit he'll be with.

Can I deploy the siege breaker with the quad battery? Giving then tank hunter?

Or would they have to be with havocs?

Also if I dropped the vidicator and took havocs qould you recommend missile launchers or autocannons?

Quad Mortar Shatter Shells have Sunder, Havocs have Tank Hunters so neither of these units would benefit from a siegebreaker. Missile Launchers all day every day, Autocannons are cool but just not very useful in 30k. Do you have access to the up to date red books as there some errors with your points costs(the Quad Mortar battery should be 210 points,The Vindicator 175), and I'm not sure you understand how Rites of War work or which Rite you are using?

Made some corrections to the list and added appropriate point values. Dont want to take a rite of war with this list.

Its a pretty good list but i would go for power axe or a pf on your warlord otherwise he will die and he cant really hurt anyone he will face in cc.

I have a question.
Why meltas on the support squad?
Everyone and thier mums are rolling with armoured ceramite, which makes meltas mostly redundant.
The sicarian MBT will destroy any vehicle that cannot take armoured ceramite (rhinos) and the venator/typhon combo will stop most vehicles with armoured ceramite.

I assume you are attatching the centurion to the support squad, so have you considered making them a more melee or leafblower oriented unit?

Other than that, I there are no faults in the list as far as I can see.

I like the revised list. People tend towards Death Stars with a kitted out praetor and such, but this list is carried more by the artillery and vehicles which I think is a much more Iron Warrior sort of composition.

You have 9 points left, you could get a 5 point upgrade for a rhino (extra armor, or dozer blade or an HK missile or something) if you want to get close to exact points.

I agree about the melta squad. A lot of points sinked into one unit with a weak vehicle that will get nuked and probably not get their points back or be able to take advantage of their melta rolls.


I changed them to plasma and added extra close combat blades. More flexable that way. I did have to lose the sergeants melta bomb for that squad. But figured with all the plasma and power fist they are a defender unit not a attack a big ass tank with combat unit.

I can keep them to protect my battery. And or use them to shoot some termies or light vehicles.

I am a great fan of the kitted out praetor, so I am biased towards a melee veteran tactical squad with power weapons in a land raider.

However, here I think you want the centurion more for his leadership rather than CC ability, this is a gunline list.
A plasma squad does complement the rest of the list.
Cut the plasma pistol and powerfist on the sergeant though, they are costly and the worst case scenario is the sergeant overheating and loosing you ~50pts.

Consider this centurion:
Centurion, combi-plasma, refractor field, artificer armour, power axe.
Joins the plasma squad and they can blast away.

I have some general recommendations.

You went with a centurion to keep things cheap right? Then I would suggest dumping the plasma pistol. Usually it's just a good way to lose a wound due to overheat. Since he's not a real beatstick and wants to hang out in the rear with the gear trying to avoid giving up warlord, the other options can probably be dropped.

For the tactical squads, why bother with the extra weapon. If they are rhino bound you won't get to fight with them until turn 3. If someone is assaulting them, they are likely to be outclassed and are going to get slaughtered anyway. I might suggest dropping the power fist on the sarge too. It's going to be very situational.

Same advice for the support squad. Drop the plasma pistol and maybe the power fist. In terms of the special weapons, plasma can be good since it's good against light armor and marines/terminators. However, plenty of people drop armored ceramite since its costs add up. So you can still blow away rhinos and average tanks. It's a toss up.

For the two sicarans I would actually recommend dropping the armored ceramite. If someone's within 6 or even 12 inches of them, they're in trouble regardless. There are ways to deploy that someone using orbital assault wouldn't be within 2 dice range too. Use your infantry to make a 6.00001 inch bubble around them. Otherwise they can use their movement to avoid being shot with melta.

For the quad mortars I know people like to take them in 3s, but I think it's overkill. 2 is enough. If you want to take 3 I would spread them out across two separate units. In case one battery whiffs on their first barrage shot, then at least you'll have another opportunity to shoot and hit.

With all the point trimmings I recommend you can easily grab another unit. A whirlwind scorpius is only 115 and does serious work.

I dropped the combat blades on each squad - sound logic. they will die by most anything they assault or get assaulted by.

dropped plasma pistol and pfist on support sgt. But added a combi-plasma and power axe.

I adjusted the centurion (stay cheep) and added a combi plasma, and power axe to be a shooty guy with the support squad.

I also dropped the armored ceramite on the sicarans. I just need to use solid and sound positioning to save them.

This freed up a lot of points.

I added a lasor vindicator into the list for more anti tank.

Looks good, I like the las vindi as a cheap anti-tank unit.

The list ticks all the boxes for me.
