I know female marines are not in the background, but been playing for 25 years and always wanted my personalized army.
So here I am and will post updates, I got a friend to help and working on a 3D model.

later will post some images to get ideas and feedback if you don't mind.

FIRST POSED MODEL NEXT TO AN ACTUAL MODEL: (one of the 2 models is 1mm taller, I will go with the shorter version)

FIRST MODEL POSED:

FIRST 4 MODELS DONE: Cpt, and 2 sdditional poses:

This is interesting. At some point I was planning necron female army, by combining eldar and necron parts.
Making female chapter thou It will be a lot of conversion work, unless someone here does not suggest a decent method or better. But having 3D modeler is pretty cool, althou the most 3D printer stuff I've seen for 28mm is a.... disaster.

The printed material difference is really a case of what the printer is capable of. Look at what the one guy's done over at www.popgoesthemonkey.com - his stuff is all 3d modeled and printed, through Shapeways' equipment.

Most of what you need is a box of tac marines and a few female heads, Shirley?

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.

I'll ask the silly question - why not just get 28-32mm female sci-fi heads from Statuesque and put them on normal marines? Females anatomy wouldn't be different enough to warrant anything different. (if we assume female Space Marines are genetically "beefed up" like their male counterparts").

@Elbows - The whole body and armor is thinner and shaped to have a female look. I don't want them to look like Schwarzneger with Sharon Stone head on them.
Legs will be thinner and longer, bust will have a hint of a breast and so on.

As far as printers I have access to an Envisiontec printer that will not be an issue.

Once I get some decent images I will post them to get some feedback.

Main questions now are:

1) Chapter symbol/icon - Any suggestion?
2) Chapter name - Based on symbol/icon?

I try not to negatively criticise hobby projects, but while I'm sure you have noble intentions and the render looks sharp, it looks and sounds like your design is based on fantasy tropes and assumptions about female anatomy and female armour, rather than what the former, at least, really is.

To begin with, I agree with Elbows. I'll also throw space marine powered armour in there - inches-thick armour that covers anatomy and bulks it out. But even thinning the layer down a bit, the design here looks very skinny in places. The effect's added to by the - frankly - extreme length of the legs. (Fun fact - female legs are generally, proportionally shorter than male legs. It's the higher waistline that make them seem longer.) Although the torso piece is one of the thicker, spaced-out pieces of this design, the fact that it's still going to be externally shaped to accommodate breasts suggests a hefty endowment on the otherwise thin frame. It's a body shape that Sharon Stone would've failed to match. Sorry to say, the overall effect puts me in mind of a different plastic toy.
And we're talking about people who've been genetically modified and roided up to become enormously strong, barely-human super-soldiers. You don't want Arnold Schwarzenegger, and that's fair enough, but I dunno if supermodel+ is entirely appropriate either!

Putting aside overidealised anatomy: with real-life plate armour and it's necessary padding, body shape is obscured and there's little apparent difference between the sexes. I'd say the same would be more true of powered armour.

It's your project to do what you like, and you've already put a lot of work into it, so I don't want to stop you. But I'd say that a bit more subtlety in the design wouldn't kill it it dead, either.

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.

Vermis, I fully agree with your quotes. On the other hand all I had to do is get female heads and do a swap.
I want something unique and that will be immediately noticeable... so my females have bionic implants in their slim bodies

no seriously I see what you say and really I do agree. but I want them to be super hero female proportions as much as possible even if not realistic.

Also what you see pictured here will not look the same in reality, before getting these proportions I did a few low level detail test prints.

Here a side view to disappoint you even more just kidding....

...So, why are these supposedly competent super-soldiers wearing -OMITTED- high heels in battle? Also, the knee is far too slim on that armor. I don't believe a human leg could actually fit in there. Do you have a front view of the model?

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

I also really dislike the heels.

Heels are going away, the images are some early concepts.

I will try to post more images soon. Once I get the shape, look size of what I want will be posting more images. The backpack sketch is done.

Once posed and printed I am sure it will look different.

But I need a name for the chapter and a possible icon or symbol. Any idea?

Hips, Shoulders, Stomach and internal organs + musculature. You may need to factor these things into your armour design.

Not the worst I have seen though.

@femmemarine Well, you can take some inspiration from mythology. Emperor's Valkyries? Andraste's Chosen? You can go the generic route: chapter names like "Salamanders" don't exactly scream "we are all males". Once you pick up a name, a symbol should be easy to figure out.

Thanks that is some good hint. The word Valkyries is a good base.

Maybe Venusian Valkyries

Overall I like it a lot! I'm personally not a fan of the helmet design (though it is well rendered) and the legs looks a little weird (I think the knees and feet are a bit off) but I do like it!

... Even if female space marines are heresy.

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

I think the mouth part on the helmet needs to be worked on a bit, looks weird, the handle on the gun needs to be a bit thinner in order for the hand to grip it tighter, other than that looking good so far. P.s a slight butt crack probably won't hurt either.

Yeah, I agree with KINGPIN54, the mouth-piece looks really weird.

I will get a lower quality model printed hopefully in the next 7 to 10 days.
I will thean have an actual model to compare to other. If the scale is ok then I can start making the other models to complete the chapter.
Looking to get about 100 different models done. Heavier armors are coming next with first characters.

I agree with the mouth piece. maybe close off the vent and make it straight line up similar to grey knights would look pretty good.

If people threw money at you would you make them a squad?

I'll second this. Given the armor design, only a skeleton can fit inside. This is a robot, not a human being in powered armor.

You've got good rendering skills, but the anatomy needs improvement - not that the same criticism couldn't be leveled at GW at times, but GW designs for the practicalities of casting miniatures over anything else.

Also, the gun handle is too large for the figure's hand, it looks like they're barely hanging on to it.

I need a color scheme? Purole, Red or Black... any option?
