Terrifying Wraith

Some of the most amazing quotes I've read in the HH books are the ones prefacing the story itself and one in particular is killing me because i can't find it again. It talks about how the dogma of religion is being replaced by the imperial truth/science and end with the philosopher asking why humanity doesn't seem to see as far. Can anyone help me find it, does it ring a bell?

Do you have a rough idea of what number book it is / title?
Even if you can remember a character or legion will help a lot to reduce it down.

I think it might be the Last Church, but I can't tell.

Yup, the last chruch seems to hit the bill. it's about a guy meeting up with a priest in the last church on earth. Great story.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.
