Hi Awesome folks!

I just finished another post on aos-tactics.com: The power of Summoning in Age of Sigmar

I think that summoning is a great and misunderstood tactical tool in Age of Sigmar. To help myself and others understand its strengths and weaknesses I decided to write a post about it.

In this post, I explain the basics of summoning and how you can us it to kick butt. I do so by covering the following topics:

  • Flexibility

  • Model placement

  • Overruling restrictions

  • The Balewind Vortex

  • Summoner Efficiency

  • Dealing with the rule of 1

  • Minimising casting risk

  • A bunch of other stuff

  • I would love your input on the subject and the article.
How do you use summoning and do you think it is worth it?

    Cheers!!

Thank goodness! Too many people seem to believe that summoning is worthless when that just isn't true.

Binary thought. Much like politics and religion (its either this, OR its that) Summoning's most obvious use is to pump out free points to give you a grotesque advantage. When removing that advantage, it becomes "useless" since its next best use is more balanced.

    Good article.

Great job on the article. I think summoning is still useful. Such as using a wizard to summon another wizard which then can cast spells. In my Tzeentch army I enjoy using a wizard to summon a unit of Pink Horrors who then can cast another spell and shoot. Also you can deploy them with a tactical advantage with this.

Great article, thanks for putting that together. My fledgling Death army plans to make use of summoning as I really like the concept - I'm glad it's not potentially in the dumps as much as people lead on summoning to be!
