Wondering if anyone has any assault marines from the old kit and the new kit and if you think the new kit makes the old one look outdated on the table top. If anyone could as well share a side by side picture of them you got it. I am very curious of the size difference of the models. I have heard some say the new kit is slightly bulkier and larger in general and also conflicting opinion that the legs in the kits are smaller.

I got a set of Assault Marines from a box kit from 1998. Built them a few weeks ago.

I got a new box of Assault Marines last week. Built them last week.

The only difference I can see is tiny model details. For instance the jump packs on the older models is not quite as sharp. The weapon options on the newer kits is obviously bigger.

Once they were both painted up, I dont see a difference. I can post a pick later side by side.

Thanks for sharing mate. They look very similar I have to say. Though it seems that the legs are a bit thicker for the new ones even just ever so tiny. Is that fair to say? Hard to see from this angle. Cool painting scheme BTW.

It also gives you an excuse to put the old ones on 32mm bases so they stand up properly. It's wonderful.
