I've recently acquired 5 helbrutes, and I've run the murder pack(5 helbrutes with a helbrute character with 5++) a few times and i really like it. Do you guys know of allies, IC or socreror shenanigans that would work well with this formation?

Making the Alpha your warlord (since he's a character) and rolling on strategic to get "the warlord and 3 non-vehicle units have infiltrate" is pretty lulzy since infiltrate confers to the unit if even 1 member has it.

Any of the psycher buff that can be cast on another unit do well - Invis, Shrouded (technically cast on the psycher but generates a bubble), telekine dome (a bubble the same as shrouded and almost impossible to get for chaos but it can happen), the heretek blessings, IIRC fire shield of pyro gives a unit a 4+ cover save, forwarning gives a unit a 4++, prescience give twin linked. Maledictions also help greatly like enfeeble lets them ID T6 and causes -1 str to their opponent which can be handy to save them against dedicated melee squads, death hex can let them punch the crap out of units that rely on their invulnerable save like hammernators, screamerstar or azrael's conscript blob, misfortune makes you rending against a target, so autocannons, bolters and flamers become far more deadly.

Renegade Knights should let you run an excess of armour that will cause issues with target priority.

Thanks for the pointers. Checked my rulebook for the infiltrate it says "D3 non vehicle units", but that would be pretty cool. I think telepathy would be my best bet to try and get invis or shrouded.

Any independent characters i could throw into the unit to buff them that you guys know of?

You can't join ICs to vehicles, period.

I would suggest looking at Legacies of Ruin from IA13. There is one in there called Maelstrom Raider that gives the vehicle Outflank and Fear. Outflank would confer to the whole squadron allowing them to come in from the side of the table in your opponent's back lines

Also the Night Lords warlord traits are good for a Hellbrute as all of them are actually usable and pretty solid. The best one being the unit has Hit&Run

Thats great, thank you. I guess i could nominate my helbrute character as my warlord and have him roll on the nigh lords warlord table, the same way i can nominate a helcult formation as alpha legion and infiltrate the cultis units.

All the night lords warlord traits were good, but "hit and run'' is amazing, espesially on 5 helbrutes. and with outflank as well, we a really talking. its a lot of points to leave in reserve though.
