Return of the 'Cool' stat
Eldar finally go extinct
Detailed rules on Space Marine courtship and mating rituals

So... it's official now, and to GW's credit a lot interesting things. Free basic rules, community feedback, annual updates...

But come now, we've been here before, we'll be here again.

So what are you most looking forward to?

Possibly at them actually playtesting rules again and trying at some semblance of balance.

Everything else on the list is but a pipe dream or the admittance that I have made some horrible choices in life for the past decade.

One will be included on the landing pad of the plastic Emperor Titan. I assumed that was implicit.

Throwing my marines in the trash because GW decided to redo the line in a radically different fashion. I have serious OCD about consistency in my armies.

You need to get into conversions.
Half of my Grey Hunters are WHFB Chaos Warriors with round bases, Bolt Guns and Marine helmets. What's stopping you converting your old Marines into new marines?

It sounds like a lot of work to make something that wouldn't look as good as just buying them new. I, of course, am mostly joking. I'm not going to throw a fit until we get confirmation on what the new marines are. Until then I'll just focus on my Tau.

I'm most looking forward to the tears of players who have just had lots of codices and 'special release' versions of the latest Deathwatch / Traitor Legions / Wrath of Magnus / (insert yours here) invalidated.

Actually, I'm looking forward to free rules, a hopefully more sensibly priced codex (or pick-and-choose thing like on the Sigmar App).

More straight forward rules and different methods of play also appeal. Games tended to turn into rules discussions; with no one ever being truly happy with the final outcome on interpretation, and then not taking the game seriously any more: ruining an evening and resulting in packing everything out of frustration.

Hopefully the humble infantryman is made more useful and survivable? Fingers crossed eh? I'm tired of games that end up with just gigantic models and transports on the table - looking like a scene from Power Rangers because all the little guys were insta-killed within two rounds.

Same here i think all those half titan models like the Wk and Ik are more fitting in Apocalypse sized game.

I won't lie. I've been playing since 3rd edition, and consistently Eldar have been OP through that whole time, with the exception of a brief period of time late 5th edition when some other factions got new dexes and they didn't, and they were maybe mid-tier in comparison. I, personally, would really like to see Eldar be legit underpowered for a while. Maybe not for a whole edition, but just long enough to weed out the real fans of the army from the fair-weather fans.

What's all this I keep hearing about new marines? Uncle Atom said something about truescale marines being in the pipeline and I have no idea where this rumour is coming from.

Same here! I'm going to carry on playing 7th edition and read the fora, watch everyone lose their gak, and then maybe start playing 8th next year. I am always a late adopter, so I can benefit from the hindsight of other players and avoid all the fudges and early FAQs. So thanks in advance to everyone for ironing all the confusion that's bound to arise.

Yep, new models! I wish I could preorder the new starter set already, and I don't even know what's in it! Haha

On moon miranda.

Honestly, I'm just looking forward to a clean rebooting of all the army books and army construction rules. The garbage that is the 7E codex collection cannot be dropped fast enough, and 7E's army construction rules are both insanely complex that many still havent figured out how they really work, and are open to such prolific abuse that they really stifle desire to play.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

I'm looking forward to a balanced system. But full balancing seems to be an NP hard problem. That is, you cannot create a balanced system if the system is large enough. But you can verify if a given system is balanced.

A fully balanced and sustainable rule set that has been sufficiently tested to ensure a positive experience for all armies. And, if what they said at this morning's Q&A session is even remotely accurate, that's what we're going to be seeing.
