So Grav is pretty "fair" in my opinion right now, but I feel like it's still kinda meh.

So what I'm proposing is that for the grav amp portion which used to provide rerolls, instead "wounds toughness 5 or higher on a 4"

My reasoning for this is that most models with toughness 6 or more are generally either vehicles or monsters. And in both categories there are models that do not have 3+ armour saves. But anything toughness 6 is big enough to be affected by grav. This sets the grav cannon drastically apart from the grav gun and restores the grav amp portion

Tell me your thoughts if you feel like it's fair, over powered or a nice fix.

Grav cannons are hot. Grav guns are crap. Grav pistols are solid. Grav guns get better if we nerf plasma guns.

What's wrong with the grav gun? I'll admit I haven't used it much

Short range, really, compared to plasma gun. Overcharge plasma always does 2 damage and wounds much more often. Low RoF compared to grav cannon.

So basically up the range of the grav gun to 24" to justify it seeing as how it has to hit something with a 3+ to get it's damage bonus?

That's what i'd try first. Also realize it wounds geqs on 3. Blech

Make the regular Grav Gun Assault 2. Now you actually have to choose between the two weapons.

Or that.

Sometimes the easiest fixes are the simplest.
