I run the Sisters (yes I am that kind of fool). In any case I'm not satisfied with the 2 added CP strategies, so made up what I think are a few appropriate ones. Cost is always iffy. In any case, input welcome, suggestions welcome (on cost for sure). I play with a regular group who allow such add-ons by group acceptance so...Here are my top ones, please find where they might be broken with other combos. (I do run a complete Sisters of Battle army with the only add-on a single Sanctioned Psycher)

1 CP: Chanted Elegy to the Martyr is used at the beginning of the morale phase. All units with the Act of Faith ability add 1 to their leadership characteristic until the end of your opponent’s turn. In addition, any enemy model who does not have the Imperium key word subtracts 1 from their leadership during their morale phase.

2 CP: Sainted Miracle is used at end of any phase in which a unit with the Acts of Faith ability took casualties. Return d3+1 wounds to that unit. If the unit has no wounded models, replace 3 wounds worth of models on the table. (So, if you roll a 2+1=3, replace 3 one wound models or a single 2 wound or 3 wound model.) The unit must have models remaining on the table for this to work.

2 CP: Rage of the Emperor is used at the beginning of your fight phase. Choose a character with the Acts of Faith ability. That character gains +2 attacks, strength, and adds 1 to all damage done. Further, any to wound roll of a 6 causes a Mortal Wound in addition to its normal damage. At the end of the phase, that character takes d3 mortal wounds.

1 CP: Loyalty above all is used in the fight phase. Any character with the Acts of Faith ability who made a heroic intervention this turn gains the Bodyguard ability. This character may shift wounds designated to any non-character model with the Acts of Faith ability that is within 3” of this character.

Keeping the hobby side alive!

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage.

Yes, lets give Sisters the best stratagems of many other armies and make them even better for good measure.

C'mon man, at least try to keep it a little bit balanced. Tone down the numbers and keep things restricted to one effect on one unit/model a time.

I like these!

I've actually been working on updating my fandex for 8th now that codexes are out (and I finally have one to compare to), so I've been thinking about this a bit.

There are some basic things that are obvious, like the 1cp/3cp for one/two more relics, plus a Canoness Superior (3cp) to upgrade a Canoness to re-roll hits in 6". Maybe the Only in Death Does Duty End stratagem (since the name was stolen from sisters anyway).

One obvious place to start for new stratagems is to recreate some of the old formation/squadron abilities.

I was thinking of a set of 2cp stratagems requiring multiple nearby units with a PURGE TEAM keyword to fire at the same target in order to bolster specific types of weapons (bolters, flamers, meltas) and also one for all three (holy trinity). PURGE TEAMS are Battle Sisters, Celestians, Dominion, Retributors and Immolators. Not completely concrete on the effects yet but I was thinking:
  • Bolter Benediction: Three PURGE TEAM units required, hit rolls of 6+ with bolters inflict two hits instead of one.
  • Wall of Fire: Two PURGE TEAM units required, improve Strength and AP of flamers by 1.
  • Purgation: Two PURGE TEAM units required, melta weapons that hit inflict D3 Mortal Wounds instead of dealing ordinary damage (so less potential damage, but you get to bypass high Toughness and/or invulnerable saves).
  • Holy Trinity: Three PURGE TEAM units required, improve Strength of bolter, flamer and melta weapons by 1 (so everything but plasma really).

This gives a cool dynamic of units working together to get as much out of your command points as possible.

Some others would be 1cp Inferno Bolts and Holy Promethium as single-unit boosts. I was thinking Inferno Bolts would improve AP by 1, and Holy Promethium would let you roll an extra D6 for shots fired, discarding lowest. You'd obviously get most value out of these on units optimised for it, so big Battle Sister squads or Dominion/Retributors with max flamers.

These are just some of the ideas I'm working with atm, no eta on when I'll have a first draft of the list yet.

Personally i really really like the 2 stratagems we got with CA. I dont like any of the ones suggested so far, sorry. Just a bit over the top for my tastes.

A stratagem for flame weapons to roll 2d6 for hits and take the highest would be cool.

2CP (cuz its better to overcost than under) "Burn the heretic": used at start of shooting phase. select a friendly Sororitas unit. Flame weapons in that unit roll and extra die when determining hits, discard the lowest result. End at end of phase.

Kill the Witch 2CP: used at start of assault phase. select a sororitas unit. That unit may reroll failed to hit and wound rolls against enemy Psykers. Ends at end of phase.

Sisters are hard to mess with. Acts of faith were already like strategems for them.

I'd actually propose less strats for SoB overall (really just some situational ones).

When they get their own Codex I'm sure they will have some way to balance out Acts of Faith with strats.
