Sorry for the lack of progress pics. My phone ran out of juice.
My list:
My deployment - I opted only to keep the terminators and
TA sorcerer in deepstrike:
His list (roughly):
Biggest mistake - make sure Helm of the Third Eye is on the table before he places all his units into reserve.
Turn 1:
I opted to let him take the first turn to let him hit the cultist and/or tzaangor screen. One bomb came in and he cleared both units of cultists between spells, shooting, and combat. He didn't have enough
CP to fight again.
I then made room for the for the termies and sorc to come down near the bloodletters. I dropped Death Hex on the
BL using Cabilistic Focus to force it with a +4. Between the SoT and the dual C-Beam from the contemptor there were 5
BL left. The rest of my army focused on Morty including Doombolt to slow him down.
Turn 2:
The second bomb came down and he cleared the terminators as my sacrifice.
Tzaangors moved to impede Mortys and the
DPs. I death hexed the second bomb using
CF again and between contemptor and a unit of rubrics they were gone after morale. Morty was down to 6 wounds at this point.
Turn 3:
His skullmasters failed to do much and were wiped by the rubrics in overwatch and combat. Morty got caught in the tzaangor screen with no room to fly past them.
I charged Morty with my
DP fully buffed -- Glamour, Weaver, Diabolic and cleared him off. From there is was just mop up having lost only cultists, tzaangors, and scarabs. I did lose on objectives (not ITC), because I could kill everything fast enough to get to the nominated
DP as the target.
Death Hex and the Contemptor were huge heroes. Everything performed admirably regardless. The amount of spells I got off was incredible and he rarely got past my denials.
============================
My first game was versus Nids/
GSC with 40 or 50 Genestealers, tons of Gaunts, a Malathrope, Broodlord, the guy that gives
3D6 to
GS to pop up. He got a 6 on a big unit of stealers and popped up way too close and my screen wasn't closed enough to keep him away form the back. He shut down the contemptor and some rubrics, but I blasted him back and cleaned up with Tzaangors.
The second game was Kreig/Cadian. 15 riders, 3
LRBT Conquerors, 2 thuddguns, and tons of infantry. I managed to sweep him on objectives and cleared most of his units of consequence.
