Was suggested to base my purple tau on a moonscape type looking bases. How would this be done?

Kinda thinking white/grey pumice with watered down nuln oil for depth and a off white drybrush. anyone else have ideas or tips/pics?

Try the Games Workshop texture paints. Great paints that can take a wash and drybrush to create a nice effect in a number of colours.

Citadel Paint App is great for this kind of thing.

Any "moonscape" bases you see for GW tend to be done with their 'Urban Debris' color scheme.
-Astrogranite Debris(this is a texture! it's thick and goopy. highly suggest their tool or something similar if you want to be able to shape/play with it. don't use an actual brush)
-Shade with Agrax Earthshade
-Drybrush Tyrant Skull

Finished!

I think the best way to make it look like a moonscape is to make it dusty, which can be done super easily with a grey pigment powder and a pigment fixer/white spirits.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.
