I was searching for stats on Bloodcrushers the other day and I stumbled across this picture:

I know that most of the individuals in the pictures are clearly either Chaos Marines or Khornate daemons, but on the far left, there's what appears to be a Bloodletter wearing Marine armor and using a bolt pistol. I've never seen this type of mutation in a Marine before. Is this supposed to be a heavily armed Bloodletter with an extra mouth on its chest, a Marine who has been mutated beyond any semblance of a human being, or something else like a Marine that has become a daemon, or a new type of daemon altogether?

Wouldn’t it just be a possessed marine?

I forgot about that option. It might be.

Possessed. It's a newer GW piece where everything is based on the models with little to no deviation. There's another just in front of the Dreadnought.

Maybe it's that new P-Marine research from ol' Fabulous finally paying off?

Deamonis Marines?

Also Possessed don't use bolt pistols. Do they?

The chest piece is definitely reminiscent of the Possessed kit. But no, Possessed do not use bolt pistols in the game, so it's just a rule of cool looking fluff pic.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
The HH Possessed unit Gol Vordak or whatever do have pistols though.

It is probably a Possessed Marine but it's fun to imagine it's something new. Gal Vorbak did have more standard kit, but they're Word Bearers elite unit and these fellows are clearly Khornate. Perhaps he is just an especially mutated Zerker? Though I think Khorne worshippers can be a bit more resilient to mutation thanks to their martial pride. They do like them chainaxes.

I also just noticed he is lacking a powerpack as well! Hmmm...

Where ever the Emperor needs his eyes

Its just a Possessed, they used to have Bolt Pistols. The fact that these ones have them would seemingly just be a throwback to when all Possessed got Bolt Pistols and not just the Gal Vorbak.

I'm personally more a fan of the Naruto Berzerker on the right.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

There is a lot of newer GW art that I wish had miniature versions...

I agree. I really like the design for this character, and while the Possessed Chaos Marines models are awesome, they don't scratch that itch. There is green stuff, but I have no experience with it. Anyone know how I might be able to convert a model to create this character?

It's art like this that makes me look at the Chaos SMs as boxed and wonder...there is so much scope for variation and individuality in CSM armies.

I basically can't bring myself to use a GW CSM straight out of the box - have to chop it up a bit. And stick spikes on it. Lots of spikes. All the spikes.

It’s cool how he’s mimicking the pose of the blood letter. Something they should consider if they ever get rid of the old kit with its Charleston style run. They need to re make normal chaos marines more like the chosen for dark vengeance. That is the first time since 2nd edition where I though they were close to getting it right. Id personally prefer a switch back to rogue trader style if biomechanical style fusions of demons and armour and human. But it’s maybe a bit of a jump from marines with spikes.
