Hello, I am a relative armature at painting and to this forum, however I wanted to ask for advice on some colour schemes and conversion advice to make imperial guard units that resemble the Combine Overwatch from half life 2.

I plan to recreate the first 3 uniforms from the left. For the one on the far left I want to ask if a base coat of Mechanicus Grey followed by base coating the blue areas with Macragge Blue before layering the grey areas with Eshin Grey to make them appear darker, for shading I plan to use Nuln Oil for the grey and Drakenhof Nightshade for the blue.

Besides that do you guys have any ideas for the middle left and right colours, also for conversion I plan to use the custodian heads from Victoria miniatures but I also wanted to ask if anyone has found something that looks closer to the gasmasks of the soldiers.

Here are the uniform colours.

Left guy: I'd recommend Skavenblight Dinge with blotches of The Fang. That shade of grey looks a lot warmer than Eshin Grey. Second guy from the right: Kantor blue with patches of the Fang.

Macragge would be a lot more saturated than what’s in the picture. Something like The Fang or Russ grey would be closer.

Mid left: Dryad bark or Rhinox hide. Doombull for the armband.

Sorry for the late reply but thank you for your advice everyone ! One last question, in order to have durability and mobility is it better to use scions or regular old cadians for these guys ? Do non scion doctrines like steel legion make better mechanised units or is the Taurox prime better in that regard ?
