I mean, they're basically just Bolters x2. It can't be a balance thing, because DW Bikes with twin bolters get it too.
And Terminators would be pretty clutch with SIA.
Same with Aggressors and Inceptors.

Thoughts?

Please read the codex again and then read like the last few pages of our Deathwatch Tactica

Indeed - what sort of bastard would want to use their codex?

Hard to reload specialized ammo on demand with those weapon systems?

Gamewise, I don't know.

Had to check the year on this one. Certainly would have been a good question in January of 2018.

To stop dodging the quesiton: they do post codex. Note, Stormbolters mounted on vehicles don't for whatever reason.

Are we reading the Codex differently, Galef? Because as of that SB do get SIA.

Storm bolters didn't in the Index but do in the Codex. Inceptors don't because heavy bolters don't, "special issue ammo" is manufactured for smaller-calibre boltguns, not for S5 heavy-bolter-calibre boltguns (or "S5/AP-2 Inceptors with 24" range would be too good", take your pick). Aggressors don't because there has to be some upside to having Intercessors in your Kill-Teams besides "durr we have to."

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

No, actually we aren't reading the Codex at all, which is the problem. I was looking at the Index and cross referencing Google results for the Codex changes.
Serves me right, I suppose. I haven't yet committed to getting the Codex because the Indexes aren't 2-3 years old yet (which should be the MINIMUM shelf life of a gaming publication, unless it's free) and I don't play DW.

Thanx. This was pretty much what I was guessing at with the Inceptor and Aggressor
