Saw this topic on TGA, thought it could translate well here to dakka. (Making a 40k one as well)

As someone who loves the narrative for AOS and 40k, I just wanted to create a topic where everyone can share what they like about the setting. Anyway since I made the topic I will go first, oh and you can make several points if you want.

1.Slaanesh situation is quite interesting in AOS I really like how the followers are splint into three groups. Pretenders, Seekers and Invaders, narrative wise I feel pretenders have a lot of potential and I hope this is explored when they get updated.

2.The delusions of the FEC, very fun stories can be written about them.

3.The maw crusha can fly because gravity is too scared of it.

I could list more but I don't want to make this post too long.

I like the wealth of opportunities to create themed armies and write homefluff of places in the world(s) they occupy. The newer fluff even creates a gradient of extremely magical (realms' edges) to normalish lands (realms' centers). I like how there is opportunity for any army to reasonably be fighting any other army, whereas in the Old World certain matchups didn't make much sense.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

That's another great point as well, I forgot to mention it. The setting allows you to even easily create your own mini continents and landmasses as well.

That Spiderfangs are apparently the only faction who can permakill SCE (via their astral plane soul-sucking spiders)

The Loonking doing ststistical analysis of prophecies to fake being able to control the Bad Moon

FEC delusion, plus them seeing SCE as equals

Skaven making a gnawhole in the wrong place and emtying a entire ocean into their tunnels.

Reading stories with the Hallowed Knights and going from being anoyed with the constant "only the faithfull" to starting to like it and then reading it out loud every time.

It's kinda funny that the hallowed knights have reached meme status.

I rather like Morathi's stoking Khaine worship to siphon his power and ascend to godhood herself.

IIRC don't we see chaos forces field soul eating/destroying weapons and sending stormcast souls direct to their respective patron god for consumption? Ditto with Death?

Yeah there's tons of ways to perma kill SCE. Even killing them by normal means too many times can damage them so much they aren't able to be reforged. In the very first campaign book a Mighty Lord of Khorne perma kills a Lord-Celestant (using the reality splitting axe ability that the warscroll has).

There's one in the Soul Wars novel. Nagash can absolutely make them but the way it played out made it seem like that is not his ultimate plan for captured SCE souls, and that the one he made was a unique creation.

Pretty much and he actually has to make some effort to unbolt the sigmar part of their soul. So I wouldn't really call them a deathcast in the first place since the part of them that made them a stormcast was gone. He was just an uber ghost in my eyes imo. Plus a rule of thumb the BL authors say not to use the books as indication of new releases.
