What do you think contributed the most to the difference in paint smoothness? Your current one doesn't look painted which AFAIK is the goal

I painted a few minis before this one but this marine is the starting point of my journey into the hobby, also I don't have the first painted mini anymore.

This is the first model I remember painting. I think I was 10-11 at the time, so ~16 years ago.

This is the latest group I finished a week ago. There have been a few breakes from the hobby, longest being three years. So it does not take that many years to get here.

I love how Modock's first painted miniature has really good blending, edge highlighting and painted on chipped weathering... my first model looked like a paint based accident in a blender factory

This is my first since returning to the hobby in 2014. I dont have any photos of my childhood models as we didnt have cameras everywhere back then. The rest are a couple of my recent pieces and my current WIP.

I "might" be able to find my first model? I'd have to take all new photos as it predates the entire internet by about five years.
