Reading the new FEC book, it feels like it BOTH needs to be in your deployment, and within 12' of a table-edge, which while deeply limiting its value as a bravery debuff, otherwise makes sense. That said I just played an opponent who swore the first two clauses imply that it is one or the other? I assume things like Herdstone set a precedent, but I don't have access to any of those books. Thanks!

As above, it is both. The buff/debuff capacity is largely irrelevant since your potential use for it is minimal; what the throne is actually for is spamming all the summon abilities on multiple archregents turn 1. It basically exists to look cool and break the game.

Your half of the table (not your deployment zone) and within 12" of an edge. Which usually adds up to "inside your deployment zone" but not always and you can also push it 12" forward on a side edge if you want, tho that will be even more useless most of the time.

Depends. Duality of Death, for example, has a smaller deployment zone, so it's not just "your half". And the diagonal/stepwise deployments are funky too.
For most missions it's just your half, though.
