Hi all, new player here. I'm looking to get some critique on my list before I make some purchases.

Allegiance: Beastclaw Raiders

Leaders
Icebrow Hunter (140)
- General
- Trait: Everwinter's Master
- Artefact: Elixir of Frostwyrm
Huskard on Stonehorn (340)
- Blood Vulture
- Artefact: The Pelt of Charngar

Battleline
4 x Mournfang Pack (320)
- Gargant Hackers
4 x Mournfang Pack (320)
- Culling Clubs or Prey Hackers with Iron Fists
6 x Frost Sabres (120)
6 x Frost Sabres (120)
Stonehorn Beastriders (320)
- Option: Blood Vulture

Battalions
Jorlbad (160)
Skal (150)

Total: 1990 / 2000
Extra Command Points: 2
Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 103

The idea behind the list is to be a one-drop army with Frost Sabres as screening units. I can switch to the Eurlbad Battalion and be at exactly 2000 points, but I think Jorlbad is better. The Pelt of Charngar is to help keep my Huskard from the battalion alive.

What power level are you aiming for? This is an extremely well made BCR list for casual, letting you play to their strengths without being totally steamroller. But for tournaments you could cheese much harder.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

Honestly, I'm waiting for BCR to get an update before I go super try-hard. That being said, I would like to be able to compete against every army. What is my list missing? Do I need more firepower?

The issue is that a given list could get crushed by one army and completely steamroll another. If you are looking for a middle-of-the-road list you certainly have one. To make it stronger swap for Eurlbad (the MWs are really powerful--I've tried it) and/or drop the sabre units down to ally in a firebelly for magical support. To go even further drop the sabres & skal entirely to bring a huskard on thundertusk.

Question: How big of a deal is it for BCR to be a one-drop army?

Securing second turn gives you a 1/3 chance of nearly auto-winning thanks to a round 1-2 double if that is what you are referring to.
