Just reading over the chaos marine codex. I want to build a demon engine list but they all come by the 1s.

Makes me wonder who can actually take a dreadnought or equivalent in squads of 2 or 3 (or more.)

Dark elfs get Talos.

No fun elfs get war walkers? But not wraith lords.

Tyrinids can take 3 in a squad Carnifexs but then they split and act independently so they don't count.

Lemon russ? Sentinels?

Tau broadside? Can you take them by 3s and are they bigger than terminators and obliteraters?

Ad mech has those chicken walkers. And maybe a bunch of stuff.

Orks? Killa Kans? Bigger than Termies?

Choas nothing I've found.

Anything else?

Land Speeders come to mind as being larger models in squads. Maybe Sentinels can? Tyranids get a number of larger creatures in squads, but once they get to Carnifex size, they begin splitting off.

Obliterators and Centurions.

Sentinels are 1-3 per slot, but act independently on the table. They got rid of squadron rules.

No? They are very much still a single unit. It's why they are crap, you can lose a model to morale now.

You're thinking of Leman Russ Battle Tanks, Basilisks, etc.

My bad, you are correct... if you lose two Sentinels and roll a 6, you could lose a model. And I was wrong about the splitting thing. Good catch.

Tyrant guard in Tyranid Codex are the biggest you get in Tyranids whilst being a single squad.

To be honest, Carnifexs splitting up are fantastic now because any single target debuffs are nullified and it's not like we have many good ones in Tyranids short of a couple of psychic powers, but that's why you keep Carnifex's cheap and cheerful

Space Marines (and CSM) will cry in joyful tears if their Predator and Vindicators can be taken in units of 1-3 like last edition. Because that would let them go around the restriction of Rule of 3. Currently the Rule of 3 practically kills off the stratagem for these tanks, making them almost useless for their points cost if they don't go first.

Necron spyders are classed as monsters and can be taken in units of 3 but I hardly think they are very monstrous on the battlefield except in terms of wasting points as is.

Wraiths are monstrously sized models and can be taken in units of 6 but calling them monsters is debatable.

Kastelan in AdMech. If Forge World finally gets around to doing an 8e pdf for all the Taghmata content the midsize Cybernetica bots (Castellax, Vorax, Domitar) will probably come in squads. Only time I've ever heard of Dreadnaughts in squads is in connection to the Mortificator Consul supposedly coming in the next Heresy book and probably won't make it to 40k.
