So I'm painting up Ssyl'eske. I wanted them to look like a Djinn or spirit from Hindu religion and I'm well on my way to achieving that look. I want to acquire a 60 or 80mm lipped hollow base, put the GW 50mm base into it and then decorate it up as a treasure hoard. Will be finishing it off with actual gemstone chips, Amethyst and rose quartz etc etc. I wanted to get the "base" part of that right so I was thinking astrogranite debris and then paint it up gold? Maybe add in some beads with various textures to look like urns etc?

So Rhinox hide and Balthasar gold 1:1, wash it orange and then go to town drybrushing it with various golds to give the impression that he's in a room full of treasure.

Anybody any experience here?

For the Lion and Terra!

Because nothing in the galaxy is black and white, Mankind views the Space Marines as a last resort. The last line. When all else fails. They take up the burden. The noble defenders of Mankind. The last hope.

With finecast you can bypass the washing stage and throw them straight into the bin.

Or cut out the middleman and just flush some money down the toilet.

I've not got any experience with something like that but you could maybe try using some fool's gold? It's got a really nice texture to it that I think would look a little better than just painted texture paint, and it's obviously got a really strong metallic finish.

You might have some success with a washing it with some black and calling it done? Might be an atrocious idea lol but that's where my mind first went.

I've seen people use gold glitter to make treasure bases from, looks pretty great. Most craft stores should have some, look for the small round type that looks like mini coins
