I didn’t really like the ‘baby carrier’ look of Dreadknights, so after hitting up eBay for about ten bucks worth of bits I put a venerable dreadnought chassis over the front of it. Used the bottom torso section of the dreadnought to lift his waist about an inch, and armored up the legs a bit. Still not sold on the little head on venerable dreads though, might replace it or just cover the whole thing with an armored visor.

Looks good, it meshes the square angles of the dread bits with the curved plates of the rest of it really well.

I think the head looks fine, my only critique would be the sort of U shaped pieces on the shoulders look kind of tacked on. They don't seem like they really fulfill a purpose.

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy.

The little U pieces are actually part of the original kit, they pop in with pegs and you can stick the little shields on them. I agree they kinda stick out and I’ll prolly just pull them out and put something else there.

I also like it. I’ve never really understood GW’s insistence on exposed pilots. Even by 40k standards, that’s just non-sense. I would also armour the pilot, if I owned one.

Whilst it is greatly executed, I really do not like this spin on a Dreadknight. It's not a Dreadnought. The guy inside is not in a sarcophagus and only like a torso and head (seriously, where would the GK's limbs go in this?).

There are other takes on making it look less baby carrier-ey, such as making it match the artwork but slapping a Dread sarcophagi on the front does not do it for me.
