"Unimaginably ancient xenos artefact somewhere on the planet, hive fleet poised above our heads, hidden 'stealer broods making an early start....and now a bloody Chaos cult crawling out of the woodwork just in case we were bored. Welcome to my world, Ciaphas."

"I will admit that some Primachs like Russ or Horus could have a chance against an unarmed 12 year old novice but, a full Battle Sister??!! One to one? In close combat? Perhaps three Primarchs fighting together... but just one Primarch?" da001
I thought the first season looked great, and then when I saw it, it was pretty firmly meh. Nothing was bad but nothing was really amazing either. I finished the season but was pretty dubious I would watch the second one if it happened.
But now the trailer is here, and it looks really good. In some parts it even looks amazing.
Sigh. Now I gotta.
Still pretty butthurt about how they bungled Parker Posey's Dr. Smith, though. It's one thing to saddle Toby Stevens with bleh writing, but Parker Posey deserves better.

Doctor Smith was definitely the worst part. Like, pointlessly betraying and backstabbing people for seemingly no reason, and often to her own immediate detriment and harm.

I only made it through the first episode of the first season.

I really liked it for the most part, but yes; Smith's scorpion nature gets pretty silly to downright ridiculous.
At this point they should just kill Smith off the show would get much better. There are enough natural adversaries and aliens even that Smith serves no purpose in this version of the show.
Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis
