Subject: Model Storage - Really Useful Box foam inserts?
|
 |
Stone Bonkers Fabricator General
We'll find out soon enough eh.
|
I picked up a load of 4 and 9 litre Really Useful Boxes in order to properly organise my stuff, but the foam inserts I had stupidly assumed would be easy to find, well, aren't. I'm sure I recall reading about a company in the UK doing them, but I can't find it now and searching doesn't turn up anything concrete.
Does anyone know of a company making them, or failing that has anyone found an existing brand of case foam that fits them, or failing that does anyone know of an affordable source for custom cut foam in the UK/EU?

I'm sure figures in comfort did something RUB sized, but they seem to have disappeared for now.
What I've done with a lot of mine, since they are mounted on pennies is attach a magnetic sheet to the base of the box and the figures stick to it.
Can you just buy generic eggbox or pick and pluck foam and cut it to fit?

For storage or daily use gaming transport/ storage?
My pure storage boxes are full of KR inserts with bubble wrap to pack out the edges. Doesn't look beautiful but gets the job done. Might not be good for daily lugging around though.
I haven't seen/ found any firm that makes exact fitting foam.

4ltr box has internal dimensions of 348 x 220 x 68mm, the 9ltr is 335 x 210 x 140mm.

Mostly storage, occasionally they'll need to go in a backpack for a few miles on public transport to get to a local club.

MY solution would likely only work if the boxes remain horizontal.

I use krmulticase.com - they do different sizes, maybe there's something that'll work there?

You could also buy full sized trays and cut them down, it won't be pretty on the cuts but will be functional

Has anyone bought a bag from tabletop tyrant? They seem pretty reasonably priced.

I have the Kingmaker case with standard load out, good light case and wont scuff up if dropped
I am also using them to get a bulk purchase of trays so I can move, the full sized trays fit in NICEDAY archive boxes
