Subject: Preparing a 40k apocalypse campaign. Anyone knows where to get good maps ?

Hi there people. So a group of friend and I decided to start an Apocalypse campaign, and I am the one to design it. Since there will be more than 2 players, I decided the map approach was the best. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find some good maps of the surface of a world (not the map of a star system).
Thanks for your help.

There are a bunch of random-world-generator tools floating around the Internet. How big do you need it?

Was thinking about 6 distinct territories. I thought about using the Kronus map of DoW DC, but couldn't find one clean enough to my liking.

I am unfamiliar with the specifics of Apocalypse, so I can't say how well the missions would work for that system, but I found the Streets of Death style of campaign play as printed in Urban Conquest to be useful for both 40k and Killteam.
It comes with a stack of territory cards that can be randomly arranged in a platsic sleeve for a 5 x 5 territory map. Of these territories, most are generic- you get artwork and resource stats for these. But there are also special unique territories that confer special rules. These include a dedicated objective marker to designate one building in the territory as a key building; units who control the objective get access to a key building strategem, and each has a special mission associated with it.
Now Urban Conquest has a bit of a pricetag, and I get nervous recommending expensive things to people. Here are some things to consider before buying:
1] if you already know exactly how you want the campaign to run, and it's really just a matter of finding a map, maybe hold off, because the systems in the book may not fit your plans.
2] the product absolutely has utility for 40k and kill team, so it scales well. You could run pure KT, pure 40k or pure Apoc, or run a campaign that combines two or even all 3 scales.Heck, the streets of death territory cards and sleeve could even work with Aeronatica or Titanicus, though the missions and strategems would need to be modified.
3] if your group is a circle of friends and you're likely to stay in contact for years, splitting the cost would be a great option.
4] if you're a city fight enthusiast, or if anyone in the group is, all the city fight content is included as well, and I think there's a bit more than what we got in CA 2018, but I'm not 100% sure about that.
3]

reality? how about voting districts here in the US? out west, they are sometimes in a grid pattern, but in urban areas (LA, DC, NYC) they can look like a maze. otherwise there are european countries\states ( I think Germany would be a cool one).

There are a few artists who are professional cartographers I know that would happily make you a great looking map, but it's gonna cost you $$$. Like, a couple hundred dollars. It's going to be a kick , professional looking map filled with little details and touches to really make it feel like a strategic map for a campaign. Or you can use any of the widely available map making software out there and have a go at cartography.
