How do?

My local club (Hail Hydra!) is kicking off a Domination campaign next week. There’s about 9 us of playing, and I’ve plumped for Delaque. Cawdor used to be my House, but fancied a change.

Thus far, all Gangs have been generated, rosters submitted, and games arranged. But this evening was ‘let’s actually like, get a handle on the rules, yeah?’.

For me, having not gamed for a couple of years, and not having played Necromunda in easily a decade, that meant those rather fun missions from the WD expansion booklet thing. Sure, they cut out certain rules (like Gang Tactics), but for one-off games to actually get a handle on things, they worked well. Well, it worked well.

Ended up playing the same one three or four times, because we were thick and couldn’t read the scenario properly. First three times that sodding Servitor just bummed my gang into oblivion.

Fourth game though? I remembered I can in fact play wargames, and am in fact not that bad. Sure, I’m very rusty and there’s still oodles to learn, but definite improvement.

I’m particularly enamoured by my Long Rifle/Overwatch Champion, The Waif. 100% woman of the match. Due to the board selection, she absolutely dominated. Well, that and my broad cunning on when to Overwatch. Gave me decent board control, and that counts for a lot.

Also? Hand Flamers are still funny. The Ganger, Blaze, scuttled up, and hosed down the Servitor, and my opponent’s Champion and Ganger. Servitor took its Flesh Wound like a champ. Other two weren’t wounded, but were set on fire. They promptly spent the rest of the game flailing around.

Of course, that was a mere four a side. I’m fully expecting The Waif to be somewhat less dominant to start with, once I’m facing more numerous opponents. She’ll still be a useful ‘nope’ switch due to Pinning and action cancelling. And once her twin, Slender Joe picks up Overwatch too (Arbitrator said no spamming skills) I should have things about nice.

Torn on Tarpit, one my Gangers though. He’s pretty expensive, having been armed with a Grav Gun and Web Gauntlet. But at the time, I was just making a list from the stuff I’d built at random (as is my way. Other ways are available, and just as fun). I think I’ve still time to rejig, and I’ve another box of Delaque to play with, so may spread the love out a bit.

Anyways. Game Nights are Tuesdays, so expect more waffling then or on Wednesdays. Pics once I’ve got them painted. Going for a really dingey, hidey in the shadows palette.

Oh, and why Sneaky Slapheads as a Gang name? Concept is, the other Gangs simply don’t know who we are. So it’s a nickname. OOC it’s just because I find it funny and fitting. Other sense of humour are available. And almost certainly more sophisticated.

And as treat for those who read this far? Here’s a link to my roster. Laugh, comment, give pointers! And yeah, I’m very aware Tarpit is very, very expensive....

First games are arranged. And I’ll be breaking my duck against Enforcers...

This....could be interesting. He’s better armoured than my lads, and whilst it’s too late to change my roster, I’m still questioning my wisdom in having a very, very expensive Ganger.

Still. There’s more to Necromunda to just shooting stuff.

Ugh.

Painting. I hate this part. So far sprayed black, drybrushed Rhinox Hide followed by Scrag Brown on the coats.

Flesh is Screamng Skull (couple of thin coats, praise Duncan), followed by Apothecary White.

Apologies for the crap-o-vision.

Next up is some metallic work, and the some as yet to be decided colours, maybe some wash work. Should have them complete by tomorrow evening.

First one roughly tabletop standard.

Also, who knew turning off the flash helped?

First game of the campaign.

Slightly nervous, as not only was I going up against someone who normally places well in 40k Tournaments, but was also running Palanite Enforcers.

Ended up playing Forgotten Riches. Technically I won, as his entire Gang wound up either Out Of Action, or Bottling off the board.

Sadly. I didn’t keep my eye on the prize, and forgot to bag Loot Crates. I then promptly rolled a 1 for my D3 bonus points for driving him from the field, and he’d bagged a single Loot Crate.

However, I may need to insist he rolls a D6....because if it’s a 4-6, it’s an Ammo Cache and does NOT score him any points, giving me the win.,,,

That aside, what an excellent game! Old skills have quickly returned, and I’ve defo got my head around both alternate activation and Group Activation.

Sneaky Pete and Tarpit properly messed up a pair of Subjugators, as both of their weapons don’t give a flip about your armour. Absolutely ideal position against an ideal opponent!

Managed to score enough cash to procure a second Flechette Blaster. I am absolutely enamoured of that devious little gun. Will be passing that on to The Waif, as she didn’t previously have a side arm - and I can foresee a time when as many of my Gang have been bought one as possible, they’re just really sweet!
