Hey! Looking to develop a paint scheme for my Tyranid army. I want it to be fluff friendly as well as give me the ability to say I have a custom hive fleet. I figure using one of the smaller splinter fleets would be best for this as they are are not as well known. I loaded up Dawn of War 2 and noticed there is a paint scheme for Gryphonne Tendril - Leviathan. Is this tendril the same as Gryphonne Prime? Is this hive fleet splinter still around in present 40k? I have searched long and hard on this topic and have not seen any one doing a paint scheme around it nor could I find too much information on it.

The paint scheme shares alot of similarities with Leviathan but has no purple on the carapace and slightly darker skin tone. If any one could help answer my questions that would be awesome!

No tendril of the Tyrannids has been absolutely and unquestionably destroyed. When a major Hive Fleet is smashed, splinters survive and find a planet to infest and rebuild.

Even if the Imperium think a tendril was completely eradicated, it is entirely plausible they are wrong and something survived.

Basically, for your army fluff, I really wouldn't worry about it!

Here is the scheme. I will do darker red for the weapons and claws though.
