So I was going to have my ogor mawtribe be from ghur, the realm of beasts, because that's where the good eating is at assuming it doesn't eat you first. However I don't really know enough about the realm to make a base that really registers as being from Ghur. I know Ghur has many biomes, all of them extreme, like mountains, jungles, oceans, deserts, the beast grave, etc. What do you guys think would be some details I could add to my bases to tell the story they are from Ghur.

Constantly being negative doesn't make you seem erudite, it just makes you look like a curmudgeon.

Bones of all types and shapes. Everything is preying on something in Ghur, so it fits.

White Dwarf ran a series of articles covering painting and basing your models for the various Mortal Realms last year. Ghur was covered in the June 2019 issue if you can find a copy.

Honestly, I don't know if their is a way to make a base scream Ghur (pun intended). As Age of Sigmar realms go it is fairly pedestrian just looking like 'normal' wilderness type environments of any and all climates. You can pretty much do any kind of normal terrain basing that will fit Ghur just making it stand out from parts of the other realms is going to be tough.

So plan B it is then, bones scattered on the bases, and buy a box of untamed beasts to be placed on the various meathooks and cook pots. I think their leader will look great half sticking out of the maw pot, just replace his weapon with an open hand and it will look like he's trying to escape the maw pot.

My take: you want to go for a plains and/or badlands look with scattered bones. However to really get the Gur effect you want lots of different bones and you want them to be non-human as much as you can. Big beast skulls like from the GW skull kit can really help you out here. You also want some tufts of grass or vegetation that does not look dead (though looking dry is fine) this offsets the skulls with having life and prevents the bases from looking shyish. Finally, go for an earthy or yellowish color tone, especially on the bones. Try to avoid nuln oil and agrax earthshade in favor of reikland fleshshade and seraphim sepia.

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.
