I'm Razsum, I'm new to this forum but have been lurking the 40k table top for a while now. I first got into 40k with the "Dawn of War - Dark Crusade" standalone PC game. Which I took a great appeal to Tau and the Imperial Guard and picked up my first Heresy book all in my early to mid teens. Begged my dad for a dreadnaught model which was pain from the get go. As I had no clue how to deal with metal models as a new comer. Then stuck to browsing white dwarf afterwards.

I tried my hand again at modelling and painting again with a space marine attack bike. One of my very first "finished" models with help from some great local Game Workshop employees. I still have it tucked away, as I wanted to compare how far I have come or fallen since once I start again.

Since then I first dipped my toe into the table top back in 6th or 5th with the Black Reach starter box. Never got to play an actual game back then as I could never make it to a local store or convince a sibling. However, I was happy enough just building the models and reading the lore. I lost the models due to falling out of interest with the hobby as it's no fun playing alone and trust me I'm kicking myself for it!

Ever since I've been in and out reading new lore and old. As well collecting small models like Space marine Heros as they were relatively cheap and easy to come by.

So I re-joined the hobby again once I saw the hype for 9th coming out. As it brought back nostalgia seeing all the new models, as back then it was the drop pod I was excited for. Thus here I am, joining Dakka Dakka so I can preserve my interest and hopefully gain some mates while doing so.

See you out on the forums!

Hi! Welcome to dakka! Reading your post reminds me of some fond memories. My first real foray into the hobby was with the Black Reach box and it was a truly phenomenal kit. I still remember ask the store employee "It really comes with all these models? And it's only $60.00? (US) Good times... At any rate, I do hope you'll document your hobby with a P & M og. It's a great way to get feedback and learn new techniques.

Cheers!

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
