Hi people ! So I am excited with the recent changes brought to marines and since my SW collection is completed, I thought I could give a second go at CSM. I was wondering which legions / warbands were considered good from a competitive view ? I am a little attracted by the Night Lords gimmicks, but I wonder if they would actually be useful with the recent changes to morale in 9th edition.

So, what is your opinion on the subject ?

Alpha Legion is good because of their strategems advancing units before the start of the game, their legion trait makes it a -1 to hit your infantry if the enemy models are 12 inches away, a warlord trait from psychic awakening allows for redeploying shenanigans.

Red Corsairs are interesting because they can still get bonus command points for taking squads of CSM.

Black Legion give a needed leadership buff and access to Abaddon and his reroll aura.

I'm not big on Night Lords leadership shenanigans.

These are the legions/warbands I consider to be worth trying at the moment, not to say the others can't work or be fun. In the end do whatever legion/warband you like the most. Who knows, Night Lords might get a massive buff next codex. Though I will also say that Death Guard with 2W T5 3+/5+ DR basic troops look amazing for sitting on objectives. Thousand Sons also look really good too.
