I've been loving the new Crusade rules, but I do find myself not having much reason to spend RP. Maybe it's just because my craftworlder warlord traits and relics are mostly pretty meh, but the only thing I've spent CP on so far is a higher supply limit. And I mostly only wanted that so that I could take lower level units to keep my army's Crusade Points low.

Anyone else running into this? Do the new marine and 'cron books add a lot of ways to spend RP?

Would it be ridiculous of me to create an "add-on" to the crusade rules that forces me to swap out units between games and gives me more reason to spend RP?

ATTENTION
. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.

I think the idea is that you might spend some points on unit upgrades, but you'd also spend some on getting new units for the combat roster - the idea being you have more choice of what to bring to a particular game than someone whose Crusade has just started out, but the game itself should have reasonably well matched forces.
With that said:

Not at all! It's narrative play, do what you want with it - as long as you have your opponent's agreement.

My crusade list is Marines, so I have a few more option (and presumably more in the new book) And I’ve not done a lot of analysis for Eldat.

Most of the uses do seem a little meh for Eldar. Mostly changing decisions. You can use them for pre-game buff abilities to units. So you could use that to give your exarchs a second ability.
