Similar to the most disappointing movie, but different!
List some movies you feel must be seen in order to improve someone's understanding of life, the universe, and everything!
My very first pick is The Apple
It is a musical, low-budget film about the perils of hedonism and the material world in comparison to the power of a spiritual existence.... or something?
There are other movies that are on the tip of my tongue, but I can not quite there. So we will end with that one recommendation. How about you guys? What movies do you think everyone should see that maybe they have not seen?

Kongens Nei, set during the faithful days of April 1940, this movie shows why the king who H.M. Kong Haakon VII became such a symbol of hope for Norwegians, and the inner turmoil the crown prince H.K.H. Kronprins Olav underwent. It also follows historical events very well.
I mean, my absolute tip-top usual recommendation would be the Matrix... but I feel like I might be preaching to the choir on that one. If anyone here hasn't seen it? WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!
So, in the interests of picking something a little more obscure... I'll say The Prestige. Christopher Nolan at what I consider to be his prime, with a star-studded cast (Jackman, Bale, Johansson, Caine, Bowie) that's actually well cast and given meaty roles, instead of just being a case of throwing big names at something. The plot twists and turns, pulling you to sympathise with one protagonist and then the other, back and forth, until the twist ending you knew would be coming still hits you with a thud.

That was definitely a really enjoyable film, like you say a real roller coaster. I love trying to explain about it to people too, "and then David Bowie comes in as Nikolai Tesla..."
