Firedrakes are very expensive; sure they're killy, but five with TH/SS is 350pts. I'd suggest sticking to regular Terminators and trying a varied loadout so they can fill multiple roles rather than doing hammer/shield on everyone.
Consider Pyroclasts over flamer support/heavy support squads; they're more expensive, but the 2+ armour can be hard to deal with and the melta mode makes them hugely more flexible.
On HQs: Absolutely consider the Delegatus, especially in Salamanders. He may not hit as hard as a Praetor but 115pts buys you a Rite of War, Cataphractii armour, a storm shield, and a powerfist, and he'll still chew up and spit out most of the things he'll meet in a 1,000pt ZM game.
On Dreadnaughts: Most of the time in ZM/small games you're looking for the all-rounder pick rather than the specialist; the flamestorm boxnaut is terrifying in some contexts, but he has some bad matchups (Terminator-heavy lists, Custodians) and is pretty helpless outside flamer range if there are any long corridors on your map, so people can just sit back and take potshots while he waddles at them. As a generalist tool I'd suggest a Contemptor-Cortus with assault cannon and fist/flamer; the assault cannon lets you threaten pretty much any target and gives you some stand-off power if you can't pop around a corner straight into flamer range.
On Breachers: They're still pretty overpriced; use them if you really like them, but regular Tacticals will do the same thing better most of the time.
Be aware that as you're taking either a Praetor or Delegatus you've got access to a Rite of War that may let you take alternate people in Troops. Covenant of Fire (Pyroclasts, non-compulsory only), Pride of the Legion (Veterans, Terminators), ZM Assault Force (Terminators, non-compulsory only), and Chosen Duty (Veterans) are all worth considering.
