Thoughts appreciated for this list. Not been able to play a game this year (curses on COVID!) so have no idea about 9th Ed other than theoryhammer and reading.
When I can, my regular opponent is going to be fielding either Tau with riptides and a swarm of drones or space wolves where he loves landspeeders and repulsors (hence the anti-fly CHE).
Is this list lacking “Ob-Sec” troops or will the combo of hornets, walkers, serpents and wraithblades survive enough firepower to take objective points?
Thanks in advance

First of all having a spearhead lets you bring 3 single war walker units instead of a 3 models unit, benefitting more from expert crafters.

Secondly, imho as CWE the objective game is really important in 9th and not fielding at least 3 squads of DA is not good.

Lastly, Crimson Hunter atm is too expensive for my likings. What you can do without changing the list too much is dropping the CHE and 1x hornet and including a 3rd wave serpent with 2 DA squads in it.

With the new forge world points values, hornets are going to be very, very worth the cost (90 each), so with this in mind I would definetely drop both the night spinners.

The biggest stand out in this list and it's something you referred to yourself, is the lack of Ob Sec bodies on the board. Craftworlds now are not strong enough a force to blast people off objectives and require much more to finesse a win out of games where most of the time you are unfavoured. Your choices should reflect this, msu squads of dire avengers can put the work in to gain those secondaries easily.

Running a double patrol list would let you pay the troop tax of two dire avenger squads while keeping most of your core units intact.

I feel like you're on the right track with your unit selection, as Hornets are hard to be beaten with the compendium released although running them as individual units counters melta and lets you aggressively use expert crafters. The same can be said for your war walkers, their load out is great, but benefit a lot more as individual screens or deepstrike potential with expert crafters.

In contrast to Enhanced, I think your list needs the anti-tank capabilities of the CHE and they're points value is actually pretty decent. Coupled with expert crafters, you don't need to burn another CP with Exemplar of the Crimson Hunter Shrine, as they naturally hit on 2s with a reroll from EC. I feel like the 5++ is more valuable now that the -1 to hit isn't stackable these days.

I am personally of the opinion that there are better options than Night Spinners now, I wouldn't replace them with wave serpents, but certainly a couple of falcons are good choices and give you the space to get your bodies around the board.

A big factor I've learned through playing 9th edition is to have a plan for what secondaries you will choose. You are susceptible to Bring It Down and our Objective Secured units are fairly fragile.

I agree regarding 3x5 DA, but not necessarily because of Objective Secured. They net me Deploy Scramblers every game (secondary from GT packet). 2x5 DA begin in Strategic Reserve for 1 CP. Turn 1, 1x5 DA start in a vehicle, disembark, and Deploy Scramblers. Turns two and three each have another DA unit enter and net me the othe two Deploy Scramblers. It guarantees 10 points. They may or may not get shot off the table next turn, but it matters little as they already performed their duty. Anything after that is a bonus.

Engage on All Fronts is another secondary I can count on 10+ points every game.

You may need to look at a good third option for yourself. I tend to take While We Stand We Fight and make those three models difficult to target. I don't think your list quite works with this secondary. However, I generally net 10-15 points from it.

With secondaries and +10 points for painted (we locally use it in events), that is 40-50 points planned out. I need to then try to minimize my opponent's ability to score. Your list will not perform well holding objectives. Try to hold the easy objectives and don't over extend. Utilize your shooting and assault to ensure your opponent never holds more objectives than you. It gets easy to forget this, but I really think for pure Craftworld armies, this is how you prioritize targets in order to keep the game within reach.

With the new Hornet point values, you save 75 points (with some firepower changes). The book comes out this Saturday if you have not seen the changes.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Thank you everyone for helpful feedback.
A few questions:
I don’t have the GT pack so what is Deploy Scramblers and can it be performed by the Wraithblades on turns they aren’t in melee?
Was planning on having Wraithblades hold objectives with ghostshields and protect from spiritseer, is this not possible?
How well will Hornets perform as anti-tank? (Can’t wait for point drops!)
Regarding having Hornets in a squad, melta was mentioned. I was thinking a squad actually might work against melta because overkill damage won’t spill to other models in the unit, right? Plus I couldn’t fit them in the spearhead otherwise!

Deploy scramblers can indeed be completed by Wraithblades, but 200 point units shouldn't be spending a turn doing "nothing" and they should be getting stuck in, forcing your opponent off objectives, or moving to contest if objectives aren't held by ob sec units. You can protect them with the spiritseer, although referring to my previous point, you should be proactive about your plays and worry about holding objectives later in the game with Craftworlds. They're tough, but if someone wants you off an objective, they'll get it done.

Hornets will serve you well as a good anti-tank unit(s) but running them in a squad means that they are more susceptible to melta. While overkilling from a single shot won't harm your other hornets, Multiple shots will, as damage is dealt with one shot at a time until a model is slain. Running them individually means you avoid that and force split firing among other disruptive things. Plus, it frees units to go and hunt Engage on All Fronts, utilise EC more, etc.

I think you should consider switching to a double patrol or a patrol and a spearhead if you want to keep things as they are. You get more CP to use out of it.
