Subject: Genestealers in Genestealer Cults: Do you add them? Why or why not? If you do, how many do you put into a 100-point squad? How many in a 125-point kill team?

Only two games so far. One game without, one with one. I´m not sure, t4, 5+ inv and a3 seems good. Plus flesh hooks are free. I´m no expert but I´ve a hunch that one in 100pts is decent.

Myrtle Creek, OR

They are useful in gsc gangs especially since they have solid leadership. I use multiple genestealers backed up by long range shooting from gsc gunners. Flesh hooks are handy but only one model can have them so I either put them on my front guy or my leader genestealer who I keep in cover.

Gsc are low tier and relying on neophytes isn’t really a strategy I have been able to make work.

Thanks guys!

Yeah in a swam-type kill team having something that can fire into enemies that are within 1" of enemy models is pretty useful. People are also finding the Ld: 9 stat to be pretty useful in a team that breaks easily.

I'm thinking of running four Acolyte fighters with cutters (useful as they skip the Injury roll phase) if you manage to damage your target and roll higher than the target's current Wounds, two Abberants, and 0-1 Genestealer. The idea is to have so many important targets that one should get into the enemy's gunline.

I dunno if it will work though.

Forgot to mention leadership but it proved useful. Space marines went first in turn 1 and sniped two gunners. And it went downhill from there so leadership became a thing pretty soon. What guns do you use with gunners? I´ve tried seismic cannon and grenade launchers so far.

Yeah quite a handful did mention the Leadership angle with Genestealers.

About gunners, in my theorycrafted lists, I put in a heavy stubber. I dunno how it will fare though, seeing how unreliable the Cults are with ranged weapons.
