In the kill team corebook (Hey, gw, how about printing a paperback full 40k rulebook you bloodusckers!) they have a marine weapon called an auto bolt rifle and one called a bolt carbine. They seem to be absolutely identical in every way.
I've looked for a difference and there is none. In real life a carbine is usually a little more compact than a rifle, a little easier to use in close quarters, tight spaces, a little lighter, etc. It usually gives up some barrel length (But with a bullpup carbine not so much anymore.) but i can't find a flea's fart worth of difference between the two weapons.
Is there some difference i have not noticed yet? Can a bolt rifle take something like an underbarrel grenade launcher a bolt carbine can't or did they literall list the exact same weapon under 2 different names? I looked at the eratta and so nothing there.
But i'm stressed, tired, depressed, mired in total despair and suffering fatigue so maybe i did miss something somewhere. Little help here?
