Shame what happened to Sodaz. Poor guy received so much hate, was ghosted by GW after their offer for him to work for them, then only after this info came to light they reached out to him.
At that point though it was too little too late, the toxic community Sodaz experienced drove him away from 40k.

What happened to Sodaz and what was the hate for?
Sorry just saw cool vid and shared.
GW told SODAZ he needed to remove his 40k animations from Youtube as he was using IP that wasn't his.
I thought they offered him a job, and never heard anything about 'ghosting' before. The guy that made Astartes (who experienced the same) said GW was excellent, communicated clearly and explained anything he asked.
So this seems doubtful to me.
Either way, the community was very unhappy about these animations being removed, and it seems some people took it to harassing SODAZ personally for "shilling"/giving in/etc.
This got so bad and made SODAZ so miserable he decided to turn down his job offer from GW and walk away from 40k completely.
So feth those people, sad times.

That image - where is it from? Does it aim to how elements taken from elsewhere or how an image was constructed?
As to the video. It was entertaining, but film wise a poorly done piece from the storyboard/directors angle. Basic stuff used in shorts like the progression of the heroes and villains always being in the same direction across the screen (e.g. heroes from right to left, villains from left to right) and other common props that enhance pick up and understanding amongst a lay audience were missing.
I mean no disrespect, but I can't understand why "the community" loves this sort of morning cartoon bolter pron. If this video didn't reuse 40K IP, I doubt anyone would be terribly impressed, the CGI is mediocre at best, the lighting/camera direction amatuer, story nonexistent.

The shovel update is amusing though
everyone knows if you go left to right your good and if you go right to left your bad... thats basic stuff like the color of your las shots being determined based on if your good or bad... come on bro.
@tauist - i know for me i like these because its stuff that ive only read about being brought to life. im also very forgiving on what i watch... i like a lot of B movies, hell D movies too

Yes, I will resist correcting my post. Or was I implying the Orks are better than Kriegers...
There is actually a whole slew of standards for shorts designed to advertise/engage the public. Its one of the reasons adverts after while can appear so samey. But they do work. In this example having a consistent direction of travel for a faction that the viewer sees as you move through the story allows someone to follow far more easily what is going on - if they see movement going from left to right from the start by the protagonists they will start following along and question less when the action gets more confusing later on. And yes as you say we for some reason hold people moving in that direction in a better light.
You can even see this sometimes in say conferences. With certain groups being asked to enter from the left and leave on the right, and the opposite for less favoured individuals.

Perhaps "love" is a strong word.
Seeing and hearing some action, from the books read, is always awesome no matter the quality.
Because otherwise it is only the imagination doing the animating and scoring, and it can't be "saved" and easily "re-watched" or shared

The painting image?
The taped pictures are reference material to reference while oil painting.
