Long-term goal here. About 7 years ago I found a bunch of random parts for an Armorcast Ork Great Gargant on Ebay. As it was just the head, one arm, and a gun I thought I'd eventually get around to scratch-building the rest of it. However, I found someone's STL files on Thingiverse. If I upscale the STL files 50% it will fit the head, however the bottom of the Gargant will be a massive 225mm wide, and 225mm tall, printed on its backside. This will pretty much max out my printer and likely take many days to print just one part.
Anyone else attempt a 40k scale titan project?

There is a Facebook group out there that’s dedicated to 3d printing Titans. Not sure how secret it is though.

Well, I got a start on this project, a bit of a hicup, and a possible recovery.
I was printing the bottom hull section of the gargant, basically a large upside-down bowl. I was 5.5 days into a 10-day print when I walked in to check on it. The piece had dislodged from the build plate, was laying on my desk, and there was a pile of plastic string all over.
After some cursing over wasted time and material, I decided to try something. Where the piece stopped printing was fairly flat and very obvious as to its height on the print.
My recoevery plan? I have the bottom half of this print done, so I'm just re-sliced the STL to print the top half. I'll graft them together after the fact. It's an ork contraption, so it it looks a bit wonky it'll be okay any way.

All right, I got this printed out a few weeks back. I just now semi-cleaned it up. Nothing glued together yet, only friction and hope keeping it together. Custodes for scale.

Hey hey hey! That's awesome! It looks a little small to me but why would Gargants all be the same size anyways, right?
I painted one of the Armorcast ones YEARS ago and it's one of my proudest model painting achievements. I'll toast to anyone who's gonna paint one up.
I have a pic to give the scale, the model is a Space Marine with Heavy Bolter on a 28mm base.
I can't take credit for the paint scheme, I copied it from the pages Titan Legions or something similar.
Are you thinking of any scheme in particular?

Yeah, originally I had a handful of armorcast parts sitting around and wanted to print the rest. However, I didn't figure out how to slice up the parts yet, so (at the time) I was limited to the size of my printer, so it's only about 95% Armorcast scale.
