Fellow hobyists!

I just want to ask you that do you have any idea what could be the upcoming Battletomes for AoS I am most interested in the those two that are shown off on the Warhammer-community AoS roadmap articl, but not named. I am asking, because I am on venture to build myself small forces of WHFB universe and it would be helpful to me what to buy in upcoming months. Thank you for the information inforward!

I think theres credible evidence that the Chaos book will be Skaven:

No idea on the Order book though.

Seraphon?

I mean, we're seeing things in pairs based around battle boxes and wasn't there a rumour for late 2022-early 2023 for a dual Seraphon-Skaven release with a box?

And both releases would be similar to the SCE-Orruk ones in a decent number of units - as Seraphon need so much of their range moved out of Finecast or just updated before it starts drinking and voting on its own and Skaven suffer the problem of having choice units in the 1990s while other units just....don't really mesh aesthetically.

Seraphon have got wd update which drops their propability.

For chaos odds are good either skaven or khorne with tzeentch and slaanesh being next candinates.

For order sylvaneth, ko and lumineth are strongest candinates. (and yes for lumineth that would be 3rd book in 3 years...But it's GW we are talking about )

Will be interesting to see if any of those gets wd updates after beast of chaos this month(which dropped those from chaos candinates)

Skaven vs sylvaneth has been rumoured before as paired box so could be that.

There's a lot of talk about Skaven vs. Sylvaneth but I've no idea what the basis of that is.

Personally, I reckon Skaven is a given but I wouldn't be surprised at all if it's LRL. Anyone up for Island of Blood 2?

I hope for Skaven soon. Updated Eshin/Weapon Teams wishlisting, and hoping my Skryre army isn't so reliant on casting a CV8 spell to have effective damage.

Skaven and Sylvaneth rumors come from something that a GW rep sent to some retailers by accident, that indicated that there would be a number of Skaven kits being reboxed later this year, which is usually a reliable indicator of a rules update around that timeframe. The leak also included a release date for the sylvaneth battletome of 23/7/2022 (thats July 23rd for us sensible types who put the month before the day).

Nothing I've seen indicates that there is a battlebox of these two factions showing down though, I assume thats based on the assumption that every faction release will get some sort of a box set, which isn't really accurate. While its been a recent trend in 40k and we do know the next 4 battletomes for AoS are getting them (Fury of the Deep being Fyreslayers x Idoneth, and the one after being Daughers of Khaine v Nighthaunt), using 40k as a reference - Death Guard, Ad Mech, Black Templars, Orks, and Tau were not featured in battleboxes, though Black Templars and Orks did receive launch boxes. In other words, its not guaranteed that either of them will be in any sort of box whatsoever, and those assuming so are ignoring precedent and making assumptions that are largely unsubstantiated.

Personally, I think its more likely that Sylvaneth don't get featured in a box (because like Death Guard, Ad Mech, and Orks they were featured in battle boxes in the recent past, specifically the Looncurse box vs Gloomspite Gitz in 2nd edition), and Skaven get a launch box (assuming they get a significant range refresh like Orks and Black Templars did).

Skaven are an erratic army on every possible level. Lore? Definitely. Miniatures? More models in resin/metal than any other faction in AoS or 40k, have some of the worst plastic kits GW makes, and some of the best. Rules? All over the place. Overpowered, underpowered, in-between, all of them and for a variety of reasons. Meta? They do badly at tournaments not because they couldn't compete but because a competitive Skaven list couldn't finish games in the time alloted for rounds. And they have always been like this, even going back to WHFB.

What can we expect? Anything. Anything at all.

They really need to consolidate some of the skaven stuff so people who want to run a subfaction aren't bound to a small list of models. I have a Skryres with stormfiends as battleline and just that severely limits the unit options I can play with.

Skaven need an Eldar doing too them. Keep any plastic kit from the Screaming Bell onwards, dumpster and redo anything older than that.

No idea on the Order book though.

Last I had heard the community was pretty sure the Order book is Slyvaneth. There were lots of LGS who had posted a week or so back that they were being asked to send any and all Slyvaneth models that haven't sold back to GW for reboxing, which usually points to an immanent codex release.
