I know that Snakebites are the "backwards" Orks with lower tech. But they still have shootas and stuff. How far does that realistically go though? Could a Snakebite have a cybork body? Would it just be a cybork body, or would it be sheets of wood bolted onto them? Would they have mega armour? Are they functionally just normal Orks with a different visual style, being made fun of by the other Orks for not wearing designer squig pants and covering themselves with feathers?

What do you think?

Tek adverse doesn’t necessarily mean no tek.

A Cybork body is probably fine. But the choice between say a Squig and a Warbike to ride into battle, a Snakebite would ride the Squig.

Snakebites are sort of like the Baby Boomers of the Orks. They prefer the "tradishonul" ways of doing things over the more advanced and "enlightened" ways of other Klanz.
As Mad Doc said, a Snakebite will take a Squig mount over a Warbike and some might even go as far as to not use metal, instead preferring to use bone or stone for weapons and various animal skins and pelts for clothing and armour. A lot of Beastsnaggaz hail from Snakebite Klanz.

They’re not feral orks, so they’re going to have basically everything non-mekky. Trukks battlewagons and all that type of stuff is going to be seen, maybe even a deff dread, but nothing like kmb kustom force fields or the zzappy stuff.
They do really like picking up feral orks though, and those lads have steam-stompas, which are pretty funny.

They have all the Tech, even zappy stuff and forcefields. They are just less keen. The clans are all “they prefer” rather than have to have x, and z.

No reason a snakebite mek would have a shokk attack gun or a force field, or bionics. But they might have it all on a boar, or a battle wagon covered in animal skins.

Plenty of tech in this pic form the bible (waaargh orks), and no mention of not have tech, just lots of whelps and liking boars.

Rather paradoxically, beast snaggas have a generally higher level of tech than regular Boyz; as they all have some degree of bioniks, and chain choppas.

Lol! So Snakebites are my dad complaining about being no good with computers, but traveling with both a laptop and tablet?

You don't even need to look at such old lore, just see how many cyber parts this Snakebite duo has:

Cyboars are a thing. Primarily used by Snakebites. Yes, Snakebites probably use bioniks just as much if not more so than other clans, and not just on Orks but other creatures as well. That takes Doks with special skills.

It’s not “old” lore. It’s THE LORE!

It's an older book though. The point being that even the newest Snakebite unique Character has a butt load of robit parts, so consistency is maintained whereas some other stuff in 40k isn't as consistent with older publications.

You could also think of it this way:

Orks have had bionics and vehicles and spacecraft for thousands, if not tens of thousands of years. They obviously had all this stuff when they fought the Emperor in 30K. So it's not like any of those things aren't 'the old ways'.

Snakebites, however, might shun 'new-fangled' stuff in the sense that they would prefer a rusty, well-used trukk to a shiny new one. They might prefer a rickety old shoota to a brand new Kustom one right off the workbench. They could prefer tech with a 'pedigree' to tek that has been recently constructed.

Now, to Imperials, the 'old ways' the orks prefer are rusty, knackered out, bodged together old crap---but it keeps working. That may be due to Orkish belief, or it may be due to the fact that actually wrecked old stuff gets taken apart and reused to make something new. To the Snakebites, however, it is just proof that the 'old ways' are best.

I like that way of looking at it. Very good.

That’s the beauty of the “old” ORK fluff. It’s still all relevant today. All of that book is still good and still present in the current fluff. And it is still best description of ORK society they have ever written. If yiu want to know anything ORKS that should be the first place you go.
