I got out of 40k gaming for obvious rea$ons, but still read the books. I also like jabchatting with the community.

So if I hang around here to talk media, events, whatever I hope it's ok. I've heard the mods here seem to have hair trigger ban reflexes and never even give a reason for bans. Hell, even on the worst game site on the net they give some reason usually.

Dunno where you heard that about the mods as long as you adhere to the no politics rule (which seems to be the biggest cause of bans).

Can't imagine you'll have much trouble if its mostly the lore or off topic chats you are interested in and are civil (honestly its not the mods here, more that we've had our fair share of people who have just repeatedly ignored mod warnings when it comes to manners and/or political statements.

There are always interesting chats going on about the books and I reckon you'll probably find the Geek media section cool too.

Lots of people on here don't paint or play, but discovered 40k through something like the astartes series and just wanna chat about stuff.

This forum has a very undeserved rep in some quarters (I feel qualified to say this as I am a veteran survivor of Warseer...and THAT definitely deserved its rep.)

OK, well banning people for "politics" is tricky today because every topic is political now, really. Just discussing weather (yes, the weather!) can be labeled political. Yes,I saw it. A user mentioned flooding in his area and was accused of being political since someone felt he was advocating the global warming theory. He ended up leaving in disgust.

It's far more lax than reddit here and most of the users are 10+ years on the site.
