I'm building two kill rigs to fit my army, i'm going to do boarboyz too - and they are starting to take shape. Ogre kingdoms iron blaster, imperial crate sides and gorkanuat arms and armour, with some wheels from a non-gw truck kit - plus the two oldhammer lads

Might steal your idea for the front of them for a Chaos warshrine

Sounds good cap'n

Here's some better pics. They are finished and ready to spray; i've put bits of metal on or under the platforms so I can magnetize models to them - couple of butcher boyz, one guy with a harpoon or lobba at the front, and a rep from the unit they are transporting.

I got this gargantuan squiggoth by Station Forge off etsy for about £80, and i'm very happy. Left some bits off, added a hatch and changed the gun barrel. Over-optimistic Incursor with melta bob shown for scale. I need to milliput the joins, then it should be a simple paintjob.

I have painted the Gargantuan Squiggoth. It will be part of the Freebooterz section of the army.
The Glyphs read:
'For hire for the best plunder and lots of teeth'
'We are Outcasts, here we come'
'A mek and a painboy took this beast and made a fortress'

That Squiggoth came out great. Those boar chariots are fun looking too, nice kitbash.

Wow, the model and your paintjob are excellent. Amazing the quality some of these etsy sellers can put out.

Thanks chaps, appreciate you looking in

Yes I was very impressed with the model, very easy to work with. Weighs a ton though, it's solid resin.

I've made the crew for the kill rig, 2 butcher boyz and a stikka kannon apeice. The bases will match where they are standing on the model.

I've finished painting the Kill Rigs themselves

The color palette, fading and weathering are excellent- what a great build! You guys are going to get me in trouble, because I see these fantastic set-pieces and want to try one myself; my Mountain of Shame ain't gettin' any smaller!

I like your kill rigs a whole lot better than GW’s, nicely done!

Thanks Meer Cat and Gulgog, much appreciated. Here's a couple of trukks to go with the Freebooterz themed garg squig. Very little conversion here, just stuck a couple of bits on, 'cos I love these sculpts by David Brumby (ebay shop).

Thanks as always Captain

I've started some landspeeder to deffkopta conversions for my blood axes.

This big one will count as a deffkilla wartrike - in the new detachment it's able to join a unit of kommandos, infiltrate with them and then redeploy - this model will make sense of silly rules.

I've got some models to paint separately and put in, like this chap

It is a suitable Ork adjustment to a vehicle, just like a swinging wrecking ball.

Cheers fellas, much appreciated!
I'm very close to finishing up the deffkoptas and wartrike, but in the meantime, I'm going to a tournament and had to think of a modeling solution to taking the Wrecking Ball free wargear on three of my trukks, without having to actually put wrecking balls on.

Here's what I came up with, and how I imagine it happening during the game.

The Blood Axe Landspeeder Storm is ready for super secret sabotage strike mission against the enemy - which will probably be the space marine chapter they just traded for it; if you are going to let your gear go to legends, you better be prepared for it to be used against you.

I made sure it had all the right wargear to count-as a Deffkilla Wartrike, so it can join Kommandos, infiltrate and redeploy.

Cheers Gulgog, much respect from one ork boss to another.

Taking the boyz to Goonhammer GT this weekend, and it's always good to get an army shot.

I've finished off my Snakebite Breaka Boyz unit with a Nob and Special Weapon in time for a game tonight vs my friends Grot Guard. These boyz will be going up against a lot of tanks but they have an exploding banana (2 attacks, ws3+, anti-vehicle 4+, dev wounds, damage 3).

Hello chaps, it's been a while. I've been painting but not had much time to do updates, let alone check out what everyone else has been up to. Right now I'm having a periodic change of pace and painting a few mutants. More pics of orks, hopefully an army shot for the Snakebites to follow.

That last figure puts me in mind of Joe Piscopo's character in the movie Johnny Dangerously: "Dis is an 88 magnum, it shoots through people, it shoots through the wall behind the people, and den through the yard full of kids palyin' behind the wall..."

Johnny Dangerously, as he hangs him from the coat hook on the door: "That'll be enough o; dat."

"You shouldn't oughtas hang me on a hook, Johnny- my muddah hung me on a hook once....ONCE!"

Well done, sir!
