So i was just enjoying some great Star Wars fan films and i was wondering how many more i have missed by accident so i thought we should have a topic just so we could share what we found so far-


I am going to start with star wars and go from there-

This fan is going all out doing what Disney should have done-the thrawn trilogy. he has the first movie done.

I;ve plugged it before but it really is a nice little tale, Mr Urban's Dredd take was awesome but by plot was limited to the 1 block but MC1 (and beyod) are glorious insanity

Since we are dealing with game related shows i will toss in this classic-

This is a short film a friend of mine was in a few years back - Lovecraftian horror, if you're into that sort of thing!

Since i already game Star Wars some love it is time for Star Trek-

I will start with the movies-

A parody movie made by the director who brought us iron sky-a Star Trek/Babylon 5 crossover




Many of these shows feature actual known star trek actors and most of these shows were done before paramount went all GW basically prohibiting any fan projects or known actors taking part.

This was a pilot for a new series created by the actor who played Tuvok on voyager he was trying to get paramount to back-




This is a movie from a group that was also doing modernized retro classic trek-




Now onto the series-

As mentioned above-more modern effects but with the look and feel of the 60's original TV episodes

The whole Axanar myth really needs to die.

1) it wasn't true to canon. Axanar is mentioned once in TOS in a single line of dialogue and who the battle was fought against is never mentioned. It's just a piece of throwaway dialogue for another character's backstory. A FASA RPG sourcebook made it a battle against the Klingons but RPG sourcebooks aren't canon to Star Trek.

I studied your victory at Axanar when I was a cadet.

That is it. That is the sum total of what we know about Axanar as a canon event.

2) he didn't get in trouble for being 'better' than Discovery. He got in trouble because he started making profit and bragged about it. He made the even bigger braindead move of trying to frame his project as the 'true' continuation of Star Trek in the years before Discovery aired which was just asking for lawyers to run him over.

3) the guy got all major fan works projects basically shut down for his greed and he keeps doing it no matter how many cease-and-desist orders he gets. It's almost annual now that he does another 'I swear the fan film is coming guys but we need money and blame Paramount.'

Maybe there was a serious fan project behind Axanar once upon a time, but it turned graft even before Paramount went after it. He needs to stop being painted as some victim. He's a conman who still trying to con people by hiding behind Paramount hate.
