A couple of questions on the Brutal (X) rule:
1) Er…what page is it located on?
2) Is it on any ranged weapons, or only on dreadnought melee weapons?

There are only about 7 different sections for special rules spread across 2 books, with little indication where any rule belongs and only a moderate chance it won't be alphabetized. I'm sure you can do it.

It gaks me so hard the way they fethed around with the special rules sections. It could have all been in the rulebook nice and tidy but instead we get them scattered across the Libers as well which makes it so much more tedious to hunt them down.
Brutal is on page 117 of the Liber and it's only found on melee weapons so far I believe. Not sure about the mechanicus-centric weapons though.

I dont know the pages, but a quick Ctrl+F of another site tells me the following weapons have it. Thunder Hammers, Demolisher Cannons, Leviathan Siege Claws, Vanquisher Cannon, Dreadhammer Siege Cannon, Blood Angel Perdition Weapons, Leman Russ' Sword, Ferrus' Hammer, Guilliman's Fist, Graviton Mauls, Darr's Axe, World Breaker, Blade Slave Swords, Lorgar's Mace, Exodus' Rifle, Garro's Sword (in challenges). As you can see, ranged and melee weapons have it. Though mostly melee at least in the Marine Books.

I believe there aren't any brutal weapons in the Mechanicum book, are they ?

There's a few - Siege claws & Radium carbines, for example.

Graviton hammers have it too in the mech book.
I think the rule for brutal is in the main rulebook. Could be wrong though. I can update this post tonight if you can't find it.
If you're looking for what it does in the meantime, it's does a number of wounds as indicated in the brackets to the allocated model. These must be saved seperately but do not spill over into other models. Ie a demolisher cannon (brutal 3) does 3 wounds to a model it hits on a successful to wound roll, all of which must be saved seperately. If you rend with a brutal weapon, all the wounds caused by the brutal wound would be rending.

Shouldn't be a factor. You shouldn't have to memorize whether a rule is exclusive to your faction or not to know which book to look in.

Thank you!
I kept looking for it in the main rulebook, which was, as it turns out, the problem!

That's more than I thought - thank you!

It is odd that more (all?) the special rules weren't in the main rulebook, especially for the two Marine books that were probably already done at the time of launch...
