Id argue that behemoth will do ob sec monsters better, the venomthropes wont be much use since you will nees to spread your monsters across the board, and you could just do 3 tyrant guard because your not relying on imperitives past the zoanthropes so the inveitible tyrant death isnt as detrimental.
What you do in place of all that I have no idea. You need some more synapse to actually make the zoanthrope imperativr matter. A maleceptor could help, and its aura isnt bad for fex. Try to figure out what you actually want to take as secondaries and get some units that can help there. Right now I just see most of your army gone by turn 3 and no ideal secondary almost at all. Good luck, I think playing nids in tournaments is going to feel very bad for the next couple months. Literally going to be out bodied by space marines in some cases
lol.
It's an idea for now. The hope is that first turn shooting won't be too bad due to the 18" dense cover rule. Most of the time, three objectives are within 12-18" of each other and constitute the majority of the objectives on the board. So, you'd plop the army on those and wait until the enemy came within 18", at which point they're in charge range. The army would be very densely packed--I am thinking less than half of the deployment zone. Just concentrate everything there and push it forward towards three objectives. I am fairly sure I could put 10 monstrous models in a 6" oval around 3 Venomthropes, and within the Neurothrope+
HT+Zoanthrope synapse bubble. The opponent would need to get an Obsec unit on the objectives I am occupying to grab them, so that would limit which units he can move forward with. Secondaries may be a problem.
Also, besides the 18" dense cover rule, Jormungandr gets the Buried in Wait strategem pre-deployment. It can be to get the opponent to spread out to cover all angles for the incoming carnifexes, and then condense everything on one side. I am pretty sure the strategem works for a whole 3-fex unit, since they get deployed all at once, 6" apart. So, 6 carnifexes could pop up anywhere outside of 9" of the enemy first enemy turn, near where the rest of my army advanced. It could also be used to limit shooting, and ensure everyone else is in the venomthrope/zoanthrope bubble.
